I would have married my ex and was planning on it. Luckily for me she let her true colors show before it got that far.

She had basically duped me into thinking she was really cool to be around but I realize she was actually a really bitch. Like a No Holds Barred bitch.

It was actually kind of sexy sometimes. But most times it was annoying and very stressful.

She weaved a story that attempted to justify everything. I did bring it up to my attorney and the retired judge, who handled our mediation. The problem is that during the beginning part of the divorce process she was all civil and maintaining that 50/50 with our little one was what she wanted. So I didn't play dirty--seems like whoever plays dirtiest first wins, regardless of whether there's any truth to the declaration/response. Or maybe it's just a gender bias thing--one thing that sucks is when the book of lies is thrown at you, and you are forced to defend, it positions you in the seat of "some of this has to be true." Even in the first sit-down between our attorneys and us, her attorney opened with "my client says you are an amazing father and that's rare in these kind of cases." Then, she submits a response that says I am dangerous, she fears for her life, my daughter is scared of me, etc.

Wanna know a secret, I told almost nobody this but it is absolutely true. Divorce should be a last resort, if you can't live together I get it but a real try should be made.

My secret. In my life I have been with a pretty decent number of women. I was only married once, lived with two different women and had multiple partners, something I am not proud of. But, as I have written on numerous occasions most of us are just not very nice when it comes to women. I regret my divorce, it was one of the huge mistakes I made in life. It was totally uncalled for, it was totally my fault, I lost a good woman. As it ends up she was the very best woman I was ever with. She was drop dead gorgeous, she was easy to get along with, she was a good mother and I was an asshole. I didn't treat her badly but after 12 years I just had to have more. It haunts me every day of my life.

And you wanna know the very worst part of this story, she remarried after about two years and married a real asshole. So we met one night and she started crying and crying and begged me to take her back. At the time I was just having too much fun. In fact, that very same day I had sex with three different women, again something I am not bragging about and believe me I hate myself for it. So naturally I said ask me for anything at all but don't ask me for that. Another reason to hate myself.

For me it was a huge error and brought on only because of my stupidity and because of sex. If you find yourself in this exact same situation, think long and hard before you make a mistake. If you absolutely cannot live together that is a totally different story.

Dating in your 30's is more of a challenge. Higher... you might just have beginners luck.... and again... truly sorry for your divorce... no one needs that aggravation.

1. Women always want to know what kind of home you have. I went on a few dates... and she wanted to come to my place the same night. It wasn't about sex either... it's a perfect opportunity to stalk you etc. Women are weird. That want to know everything. 99% of the time I never show any chick where I live.

2. We all lose attraction... especially approaching 40. lol I'm 40 now. The women in my area.... 32-36 range... not so attractive... (in my book) and just looking for a meal ticket.

1. You're more established in your thirties and making more money.
