I always hold the door if someone is behind me . If it is a i person doorway and i see a woman coming i hold the door out of courtesy. But if a guy was approaching i would do that too so the door is not slamming on them. If it is an automatic door and room for more then 1 person then it should not matter as long as there is room. You do not have to wait for the girl to go through first just because she is a girl .Not like she is royalty or something.

I would never defer out of fear because the squatches are our friends. But it all depends on the situation. A Bigfoot will always allow the woman to go through the door first they are polite and courteous that way. They will even reach out to help the woman through.
