They usually do it because they are sick and don't want to spread their germs. I think it's a very nice gesture.

I don't know, but I like how their cooks all wear it in restaurants. In U. S. they only wear hairnets. There is more spit flying around than hair I would argue.

Some don't like the smoke. The ones wearing masks are usually from every country except China. The Chinese spit on ground, pick their noses and chain smoke.

It's an overseas thing. Most people in our states won't wear them, no matter how sick we are.
