Which of these shows should I start first?

A) The Night Of (HBO)

B) Stranger Things (Netflix)

C) Mr. Robot (Season 2; USA) -- this one I did see Season 1 and it was awesome.

Vice Principals is garbage compared to EbD. Although I still think it's pretty funny, I'd rather watch the night of. So far, so good.

I don't understand the Strange Things phenomenon. I've seen the first three episodes and it was a struggle to say awake. Not to mention Winona Ryder's over-acting is distracting.

The Night is a great show. A typical HBO slow burn. After the second episode, it really takes off.

eps 4-8 of Stranger Things made the series pretty satisfying and worth watching. I just cranked through them last night after stalling out in ep 3.

Mr Robot is probably the only show other than GoT that I find myself looking forward to every week.

Haven't started the first one so will probably binge it when the season ends.

If you grew up in the 80's this show will resonate for sure. Even the intro to the show is reminiscent of shows like Amazing Stories or Tales From The Dark Side.

What I thought was pretty great was that although the film makers clearly borrowed a lot, it felt like more of an homage than a rip off.

Update:

So I went with B) first, Stranger Things. LOVE IT! I've seen 5 eps now out of the 8 and I'm sad that it will all be over so soon. (Side note: As much as I love "prestige TV," I miss the days of getting into shows that had 20-25 eps in a season.)

Anyway, awesome show, so well done... as others have mentioned, very evocative of 80s sci-fi or horror movies by folks like Spielberg or Tobe Hooper or Joe Dante... but beyond that, just a cool story with great mystery in it and interesting characters. The child actor who plays the girl is fantastic. So much emoting without even saying much.

Anyway, no spoilers please... although I'll be done with the damn thing in a couple more days probably.

Finished Stranger Things: Awesome. The girl actress is a revelation, so talented.

Just started The Night Of tonight! Loved the first ep!! Totally sucked in. Has a very The Wire vibe also, probably because Richard Price produces and writes and he worked with David Simon some on The Wire and wrote or directed some Wire eps. Pumped to watch the rest!
