The case where 5 kids raped a girl in Brooklyn....

At first I was infuriated about hearing about this but now, as more details come out, I'm totally confused and starting to second guess the initial story.

Why is an 18 year old girl in a dangerous park at night with her dad?

Why is her dad drunk?

Why would someone one leave their daughter in that situation?

Why was no gun found?


It sounds like the "criminals" may have more evidence against the dad if they do in fact have cell phone footage. Their story almost seems plausible to me. They see a girl doing her dad, think wtf, we want in. Then after it's all over the girl and father feel embarrassed so they make up a story and try to sue.

I don't know. I shouldn't speculate until we have all the facts but several things don't add up right now.

^^^Reply answer to solving or reducing continued gun violence... I gotta question some of the replies with all due respect.. Keep in mind I personally like and enjoy owning my gun and keep an open mind to gun ownership.. Not a tree hugging liberal either..

1) Wild wild west theory of making it legal to arm up - If everyone arms up legally in public that automatically gives the bad guys the green light to arm up also.. As it stands now the thugs do have to worry about being pulled over or caught carrying a loaded fire arm and facing criminal charges.. That's a felony offense and usually prison time in most states.. You even up the battle field carrying firearms but you also increase the enemies capabilities also in other words.. It's just a bad idea to let everyone pack a loaded firearm in public legally.. BAD IDEA!!! People just aren't that responsible...

2) I'm in favor of legalizing drugs in America as that would stop the drug cartels in it's tracks.. Tax legal drug sales to get the Nation out of debt.. We would get more junkies out of the gates, things would regulate and all that criminal defense money spent now could be used for drug rehab centers and drug advertising awareness campaigns... Kinda like what we see with cigarettes now on tv.. Some Countries in Europe function just fine with the legalization of most drugs.. So that would cut down in organized crime immediately..

3) Turning in guns for money programs in every State would take many guns off the streets.. Get stricter with gun laws, sales and screen checks will help.. Push for increase pricing for gun sales.. You need to make it harder and more expensive for the criminals to get and buy guns.. I think this would help...

4) Lastly increase the punishment for being caught in a crime while wielding a loaded gun. Automatic speedy death sentence would be awesome but I know that's not realistic.. Trust me criminals would not use guns in a crime if that strict death penalty law as in place... The new gun law should be - home protection or animal hunting only..

I'd like to see how that all would all work out anyways???? It's just a theory of mine...

You're sensationalizing. Almost no chance this scenario happens here, even though it pretty much does happen in Switzerland, and there's almost no crime there (you don't say!). Thugs are stupid and don't register their guns, making it a liability to conceal and carry out in public. You have to pass a background check to register them anyway, and thugs can't.

There are already programs for this, and there's no direct correlation between these programs and lowering violent crime. Be realistic here. Put yourself in the mind of a thug. You can't just get rid of your gun -- you're a thug, and you live in a thug world. You'd give up all of your power. If you want to make money this way, you'll just go try and steal somebody else's gun.

Maybe not realistic, but I'm with you here. The death penalty should be used 50X more than it already is. There's already too many people in this world. The bottom 5% that detract from society can all die.

Thats the thing though Jibbby, you need DETERRENTS like this to prevent crime from happening. Proper conceal-and-carry does just that. Thugs are lazy and cowardly, and want low-hanging fruit. The possibility of death and/or a citizen shooting back is one hell of a deterrent, and has been shown to prevent crime tremendously.

in all the westerns i watched it was legal if you got into an argument in a saloon you simply took it outside and walked 10 paces in opposite directions turned, drew, and fired. the best shot usually won and the winner went back in and bought a round. then 2 or 3 unemployed guys (no one seemed to have jobs) dragged the victim off to boot hill. sheriff just shook his head and said "well, it was a fair fight". everyone today should be required to have a holster and 2 guns while out in public. good deterrent against crime.

Almost without exception a total Hollywood myth...in the Old West you mainly had to rely on your judgement of the situation and act and react accordingly...I mean when a guy is going nuts and you suspect he might attack ya uhhh ya know that's the time to be very aware...especially in a place like a saloon/gambling hall/brothel that would attract a rougher and armed and drunk crowd. The problem with a formal duel in the Old West is once an argument has escalated to where you've both decided to kill each other diplomacy has kind of gone out the window and you just pull your gun or knife in aggression or self-defense and attack and that's it. Jesse James or whoever is not gonna be about to attack u and then sitdown and workout a formal duel with u if he has the opportunity to blow ur brains out right then he'll certainly add you to his list of kills instantly without the clever Hollywood dialogue and 5 minute staredown in the street you see in movies. In a real-life kill or be killed situation penetrate diplomacy get your fuckin gun on him and either kill him or at least disarm him.

Look if ur a professional gambler in the middle of penetrate all unsettled desert nowhere with virtually zero economy and just a bunch of guys tryin to find gold to strike it rich (good luck with that) and outlaws at a small gambling house/brothel/saloon combination you've picked a very good place to find trouble.

In modern "civilized" times Doyle Brunson went traveling to poker games with a car full of shotguns in case they were robbed/shot at by somebody who they beat or saw they had money and he was still robbed at gunpoint several times...so not THAT much has changed in that "profession" if you're making your living going to illegal gambling houses especially if there's significant money being bet.

Gun control advocates keep advocating for governments federally and locally to ban guns altogether....yet in every city where guns are banned the thugs realize their victims are all sitting ducks and gun crime is the highest in the country....apparently these murdering thugs just dont seem to give a shit about your gun bans.

Thugs should pray every night for a nationwide ban on guns and then break into every house in the city and rob everyone there. Look I know its tough to think like a criminal but when you armed rob and armed gangrape and murder for next to nothing and risk getting absurdly long sentences for these crimes gun laws dont even show up on your radar the only thing they do is insure that the victim is going to be absolutely defenseless and that's not what the 2nd amendment is about....it doesn't want you to be defenseless and have armed niggers gangrape your daughter...it thinks you should be able to defend her...if the thugs are armed then you should be armed....running around looking for a phone for 20 mins to call cops that take 10 mins to show up while your daughter gets stuffed in all 3 holes doesn't seem like a smart move but you want to ban guns so here's my advice to you...give your guns away....you can voluntarily choose to be defenseless anytime you like....if guns scare you that much then get rid of em.

Toughening up the laws for repeat violent crime offenders to actually instill fear of punishment in these thugs would be an effective detractor indeed. It would have to be really harsh and speedy though.. I'd be in favor of caning young offenders like they do in Singapore also. (very little crime in Singapore)

Harsh punishment laws work - How great would it be to impose a speedy death sentence with any known felons that used a loaded firearm in a criminal act for their second offense.. Forget this 3 strike stuff, make it 2 strikes...
