There was a lot of adrenaline in his voice. You could tell he was extremely excited. Sort of gasping for air at some points of the audio. That's an indicator it wasn't fake. You can't fake that. No amature actor is that good.

If this is legit then I feel terrible for the guy. I have no clue what gofundme is either but if this is a cash grab then they all should be tried in court. I am surprised that he acted as calmly as he did given that he probably has some issues. We are so weak in the military these days.
