on a serious note, this isn't so much sharks trying to eat them as it is an overwhelming abundance of sharks in the surf just happening to "bump" into swimmers, then deciding to "explore" what they just bumped.....

sharks generally test things out by biting them.........

if the hundreds of swimmers out there that didn't get bit by the sharks that were within a foot or two of them that they never saw were aware of how close they actually came to the "maneaters," those beaches would indeed be empty..........

I've had many a stringer of trout attacked by blacktips and bullsharks while fishing in the surf around Gavleston and particularly Matagorda...... always unnerving and pisses you off, as invariably they hit (sever in half) your two biggest fish on your stringer when they go after it........

the second you hear your fish on the stringer behind you start "splashing" at the surface, you know a shark is f'n with em......

"Wade fishing" in the water...... sometimes up to chest deep, third sand bar out......

prefer waist deep, standing on the 2nd bar fishing into the 3rd "gut", or 3rd bar fishing outward from where it starts to drop off.....

where i go we only have like 1 main sand bar you can walk out to. It would suck to be walking back with my catch and the sharks come for me.

how do u recommend cooking the trout?

are they best fried?

fried or baked; fresh fried trout (take the skinned filets, salt n pepper em, roll em in corn meal or zataran's fish fry, drop em in hot ass grease, 3-4 mins per side, you're done) is hard to beat.........

can grill em in tin foil, with butter and seasoned salt, as well..... baked, approx 25 mins at 400, with butter and seasoning such as tony cachere's, is damn good too..... be sure to cut any "red" meat out of em (it turns grey once baked)......
