Whilst I do agree but everyone knows what they are getting themselves into bringing drugs into that country so why risk it? It's a game of russian roullette you know what happens if you lose.

Walk into customs and there's multiple giant signs warning of the death penalty and as they've proved time and time again the chances you're getting off are next to none.

Irony is walking the streets of Kuta in Bali you'll get offered every drug under the sun within a block and yet I've never seen anyone busted. Bit of cash on the side for the coppers. Kinda surprised a lot of these smugglers can't buy their way out in customs, actually many probably do.

Most of Asia doesn't mess around when it comes to drugs...in thailand I've seen people kill people pay the family a ton of baht and not do any jail time but let them catch you with drugs they'll bury you under the prison. You have to be retarded or desperate to smuggle somewhere YOU know they'll execute you by firing squad it's no secret everybody knows. Ps KFC wouldnt be my last meal even though KFC in Asia is better than KFC in America if you can believe that.

Last year Muhammad Cholili, sentenced to 18 years for helping make the 2005 bombs that killed 20 people, was released on parole after serving less than eight years. To this day he denies any involvement in the restaurant attacks.
Others involved in the 2002 bombings have also benefited from the Indonesian legal system.
Abu Bakar Bashir, regarded as spiritual head Jemaah Islamiah, was found guilty of conspiracy over the 2002 bombings and sentenced to 30 months, but was acquitted on appeal and released in 2006. He is currently serving 15 years after being convicted in 2011 of supporting a jihadi training camp.
Umar Patek, nicknamed the Demolition Man, was arrested in 2011 in Pakistan, in the town where Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was killed three months later. The US offered a $1 million reward for his capture. He was found guilty of murder and bomb-making in 2012 and sentenced to 20 years. Prosecutors did not ask for the death penalty.
His wife was sentenced to 27 months for immigration violations.
Idris, also known as Johnny Hendrawan, admitted his involvement, including detonating a bomb. He walked free after a ruling that Indonesia’s anti-terror laws could not be applied retrospectively. He received a five year sentence for his involvement in the 2003 Marriott Hotel bombing, which killed 12, and was released 2009.
Masykur Abdul Kadir, sentenced to 15 years, also had his sentence overturned when the retrospective anti-terrorism laws were struck down.

I think the punishments are overly harsh in Indonesia for drug related crimes, but they are made perfectly clear so if you choose to run that line you know the consequences if caught. At the end of the day they were drug smugglers and dealers so i dont feel too much sympathy for them. Better people in the world have died for a lot less

Is this what happened? I don't know much about the case.

After writing my post I only found out they were smuggling drugs out of Indonesia which I found weird they were even caught as it wouldn't be hard at all as their customs out is a breeze or was in those times anyway (wasn't much better coming in unless you had surfboards and that was only to check how many you had so they could get a bribe). Then I saw the Aus Fed Police threw them under the bus, wow that's harsh just wait for them to arrive in oz and bust them, they knew what was going to happen to these guys when they tipped off the indo policia.

Whoever made that call might as well of been the guy on the firing line.

i read the girl was pardoned because she was a mule forced into the game...what i didnt read was who forced her, were these 2 ringleaders the ones who did or were they some just idiots who decided to try to smuggle drugs? either way they still didnt deserve death just wondering if the media was leaving some facts out?

She got lucky, politics as usual. Its not what know its who you know. So Im guessing her Philippinean heritage saved her, both countries are cordial to one another and make money off each other, influence saves the day.
