No clue what CBS was thinking here. I don't think Colbert's style and his satirical ways will work on CBS. His show is more of a mockery and its gonna be a difficult transaction to make to a late night show. Not sure why CBS just didn't bump up Craig Ferguson from the 12:35 slot as he already has a fan base and his show has alot of potential.

Shoulda gave it to Conan so he could exact some revenge on The Tonight Show for that whole Leno/Coco debacle. It would have made for one helluva ratings war between CBS and NBC.
Outside of that scenario, I agree Craig Ferguson seemed like a better option than Colbert. I think Colbert is capable of hosting The Late Show, but he'll have to make an adjustment in his overall persona. He's going to be interviewing A-listers now, and won't be inhabiting the niche of political comedy, so he'll have to be a bit more gregarious and tone down the sarcasm.Comment -

You guys are freak'in nuts! Colbert rules! Yeah, he's no David Letterman, but taking the place of one of the greatest guys ever in late night was no easy task. I think Stephen has really come a long way from his nights on the Daily Show and really put his own style on the Late Show.
His kills it reading dumb fuk Trump's ridiculous tweets and slamming that douche bag in a fuk'in hilarious monologue every night! And the chick on there he has playing Melania is a dead ringer and funny as shit! I guess if you're on the far right, you probably do hate him, but there's no denying he connects with his comedy and gets us to laugh at all the stupid political idiots out there.

Numbers are down, but people have a zillion more choices now, so it's hard to say if the numbers he does have are impressive or not.
But sorry Mike, Colbert went hard left with everyone else right at that magical time when they all decided to do it at once. Yeah, I get wanting to go up or whatever (and he may have been tired of playing the character), but it has to eat at him a little that this is not as funny.
The interviews used to be amazing because of the point of view he was trying to portray, and the subjects had a singular point/product they were trying to convey usually. On the new show it is just run of the mill interviews.
Now he is just some normal comedian trying to make jokes, which is fine, but I miss the laughs and humor of the old show.Comment
