Asking advice for a friend

So a guy owes upwards of 30k to some shady people. He obviously can't pay it but has to or else they will "take him for a walk". He obviously can't pay it and he already sold off all his assets which only got him like 5k. He needs it by feb 1st or they said they will "take him for a walk"


He says he can take a beating but if they plan to cripple him he can't do it and will try to flee the country.



Any advice?

Hmm there is not much to do here. Maybe work out a plan by giving them monthly 1000. and Do that up to 32000 or 35000. I know it is a scam, but running will not help him either.

move to another part of the country as long as he doesn't own property. Realistically 30k isn't that much and with a bit of luck and selecting your spots you can make it back with an inititial investment of 2k or so betting sports.
