Syria's foreign minister said Tuesday that President Bashar Assad has accepted a Russian proposal to turn over control of Syria's chemical weapons, potentially opening the door to defusing a stand-off with the United States as President Obama indicates he's willing to give the "diplomatic track" a try.
According to the Associated Press, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem said Tuesday after meeting with the Russian Parliament speaker that his government's officials quickly agreed to the Russian initiative to "derail the U.S. aggression."

Exactly correct, if things remain constant this is a huge victory for Obama. Turns the tables on everybody with this one. The joke always ends up the conservatives ass. It happened with Nixon in 72 with Vietnam but negotiation lead to nothing and he ended up bombing them anyway until they actually agreed to come back at the negotiations table.

Could happen here too. In other words this whole "we'll give you the wmd just don't hit us" could just be a stalling technique so basically Asaad could be the winner here because he is buying time.

just a bunch and most or all are part of the administration. what I find ironic is how every R, almost every R especially in the house votes no on anything at all that Obama initiates even if some of what he states was at one time a R idea. However, when he wants to strike at a country, when he wants to get perilously close to another war these same R, some of them, all of a sudden vote yes. No on every single issue that might help the country, yes on an issue that brings war, death, horror, displacement and destabilizing an entire region. That is what I find ironic.
