The sharp forecast has the Jets winning 23-20 and the stacking forecast has Atlanta 24-21.

The game looks closer than one may think and might help explain why -6.5 had trouble getting to -7.

I agree that at one point the Jets will look like the Jets and this is as good a week as any.

If the Jets score first I like Atlanta to comeback for sure.

No, but I did have a pretty good idea that the Jets would play strong early and conditions would be such that the Jets are able to play close.

That counts for unusual and unexpected plays, whether because of a good performance by one team or a poor performance by the other.

Turnovers count as part of those conditions.

Sometimes it doesn't matter how it's brought, as long as what they bring gets brought. Remember the tie game between St. Louis and Seattle some time back, kickers had to miss field goals at the end of OT because offenses performed too well, driving into range. Remember the New England vs Seattle superbowl? An amazing, unlikely, tipped catch at the one yard line led to an immediate interception at the goal line.

Once the game begins, however, how it was brought only counts when handicapping the future games, after this one ends and we are looking at the finished stats and scores.

Does that make sense?

One more point on that, how it is brought does matter while the game is on for the mentality of the bettor. It can be very easy to be convinced the bet that lost was still the right bet because of some unusual, unexpected, unlikely event on the field that many say "you just can't cap for" allowing the bettor to make the same mistakes again.

I am not saying that is what's happening in the Atlanta game, but you did think Atlanta was the better team, and probably rightly so, so turnovers help explain the close game.

Exactly, it's just noise in the end. I've been known, especially in this thread, to counter the plays I like because I'm always looking over my shoulder. I've been burned too many times with the early lead.
