ABC News reports that the Tsarnaev brothers' father talked to them both after the Boston Marathon bombing, asking them if they were in the vicinity, and they said no. ABC News also reported that the father knew of no financial problems among the brothers - the younger brother Dzhokhar was on financial aid at his college, UMass Dartmouth.

A police source tells ABC News as well that Dzhokhar may have been injured in the "very bloody" firefight late last night in Watertown that claimed his older brother Tamerlan, limiting his mobility on the run.

Widely known and believed rumor is that he had the FSB and/or Spetsnaz do the bombing at those Moscow apartments and blame it on Chechen rebels so that he could once again go to war with Chechnya. These two idiots doing these bombings for the Chechen's cause makes no sense. The Chechen's historically had the backing of the U.S. (under the table at least), until Shamil Baseyev blew up that elementary school gym. The U.S. did not call for violence against Chechnya after that, so this attack made no sense. Bush shied away from bringing up the issue of Chechnya and their attempts at secession, whenever he talked with Putin, but he did not necessarily say anything negative towards them. Terrorist groups do f.u.c.k.e.d. up shit, but they stick to the party lines in general and don't go off the reservation. I hope they find these dumb-asses soon and bring them to justice, but this shit shouldn't be put on the Chechen people who are just trying to live their lives.

Why would he want to run over his brother to detonate a bomb that makes no sense whatsoever first you can't detonate a bomb by running it over you need a blasting cap and a detonator. Secondly running over the bomb to detonate it would only make the bomb less lethal to the surrounding officers and would only damage the vehicle and kill his brother.

if this was really true and what actually happened i don't see how he could get away by vehicle and if he did he most likely ran him over in the chaos of all that was going on.

This what bostongambler posted earlier re detonating the bombs. We knew in the thread he'd run over his brother but had assumed it was just done in haste. bg however lives there obviously and reported that's what he heard so until it's discounted that's all I need. If it turns out to be right or wrong so be it. The fact that we're aggregating news/info is the best thing about this thread because it gives all the chance to disseminate it with whatever knowledge or other sources we might have. That's why I at least appreciate posts like his and now yours... if I was trying to make sense of this all on my own my brain wouldn't be able to make conclusions or discount things. It's as one that we're stronger. Same goes for the country as a whole.

Update at 2:22 p.m. ET. 'A Setup':
Radio Liberty, an overseas news service funded by the United States, spoke to Anzor Tsarnaeov, whom they and the AP identified as the suspects' father.
According to an English translation by a producer at NPR's Moscow bureau, he said he could not imagine his sons doing such a thing.
"Knowing our children — you see we know our children — if a person didn't pray how he can go and blow up or something... I don't know. I have never seen either explosives... nothing," Tsarnaeov said. Later in the interview he said this was a "setup."
This is very much in line with what the suspects' aunt, Maret Tsarnaev, told NPR's Joe Shapiro.
"This totally doesn't make sense to me," she said, adding that authorities had not released definitive proof that these were the people responsible for the Boston blasts.
"Tamerlan and Dzhokhar never were extremists," Tsarnaeve said. "Never had enemies. Never had any — of course everybody has opinion on every issue. But does mean that you live with it, and you would go for a heinous ugly act? Like happened on that marathon street in Boston. And again, all I can see these two boys are walking on the street."

The family of the slain MIT officer tells The Boston Globe that they are "heartbroken" at the loss of Sean Collier.
"Our only solace is that Sean died bravely doing what he committed his life to – serving and protecting others," the family statement read, according to the Globe.
