i heard pats and genos are overrated and more tourist attractions.

im use to good cheese steaks from being down the shore.

Head to Roxborough, and go to Chubby's or Dalessandro's, or Chink's. All great places.

Best steaks in the city.

Pats is not overrated. I was a local in Philly for most of my life. Yeah their are some lesser known local spots but nothing that beats a Pats cheesesteak IMO

I was born and raised in South Philly. Very few local philly folks go to Pat's. It's now almost all tourists and college kids. The locals go to Luke's, Chink's, Chubby's.

If anyone thinks Pat's steak is the best in Philly, they need to get their head out of Foder's travel mag, and experience the city some.

I have had cheese steaks all over Philly. You are right about Pats & Genos. Reality is there isnt much difference. I live in CA now and Cheese steaks taste exactly the same out here as they do in Philly
