there really is no cops i go around there all the time specailly if you get lost or go when theres no sporting events very spookie and its easy to get lsot in a neiborhood and not find your way back to the expressway

Pal, I have worked in some of the most insanely violent neighborhoods in Philly imaginable.

I used to work in a section of Philly known as the "The Badlands".

Back in the day, this city had one car patrols through the neighborhoods.

In The Badlands here in Philly, they would carjack the cops and take the vehicles.

It was so bad, the city started doing 3 car patrols through there not just one car.

If I showed what it actually looked like back in the day, you would not believe it.

Try to imagine the worst conditions of third-world Africa that just went through a civil war, and then you might have an idea of what I'm talking about.

When people talk the way they do about the city--it's just not accurate. There's a lot of streets you want to stay away from and all the main locals know this. There's a few guys I know that sell and never do anything without their gangs and I never had any problems with them but obviously they are dangerous guys and you have to be careful and always plan for the unexpected. and i only go to these guys when i need something hard.

I just got back from living in the sticks in Minnesota for three months and people would be like "oh, I would never go to DET"

As if they are gonna get shot or robbed the minute they step foot in the city

Perception is getting out of control.

I go through the same stuff with Philly as a city.

Yeah, we have The Badlands but I don't live in that neighborhood nor do I party in it.

People hear I'm from Philly and are like "oh shit I would never go there".

Funny thing is, everyone that I ever took out here in the city fell in love with it.

The country basically started here. First capital of the USA. Probably most historic city in the USA.

On top of that, we have architecture here you have to go to Europe if you want find it again because in this country, it's only here.

The food here is phenomenal too.

I hear new yorkers rave about central park all the time.

In Philly we have Fairmount Park. It's so big you could easily fit 4 central parks in it. New yorkers are shocked when I'm in new york and tell them that.

It just has so many awesome and wonderful things about it.

That being said, I also completely understand why Philly draws the types of reactions it does as well.
