#8Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.
Heard that in a good movie, and I agree.
It's longer... that is it. It is using old technology.
It is amazing.
I hate on the people that buy this just after purchasing the newest iphone less than a year ago. I don't hate on apple for capitalizing on this obsession with the most expensive shiny thing. Dr. Dre knows whats up - he is selling normal headphones at an insane price.

#11I bought the Sprint HTC EVO when it was first released June 2010. I told myself... unless I get other phones for free... I'm not catering to this phone epidemic anymore. I'm off of contract... and it puts the buying power in your hands. But realistically what can the iphone do that the original HTC EVO can't? And even if it has all of these options... are you really ever going to use them all? One girl told me she blew 1,200 in one year just on phones because she kept on dropping/breaking them. Silly.Comment -

#12Still sporting the 3GS, no idea what I'd need another phone for. It surfs the web, sends messages and does phone calls. About all a phone is needed for.Comment -

It's all about the demographics, and some people just want to be spoonfed what they like, and are willing to sacrifice a lot to make sure that spoon is the newest one on the market.
Samsung and HTC have closed the gap a while back, and have overcome apple as far as innovation goes for at least the last year.Comment -

#26It is an expensive way to streamline the smart phone experience, without any ability to customize it. That is fine if you are a technophobe who only cares about the logo on your product. However, if you are even remotely tech savvy, apple is about as useful as a tout service, and equally frustrating and just as expensive.

#28This is going to be my first iPhone. I used one briefly for about a month in 2010. I'm not sure what the issue is, but every android-platform phone I've used (and that's nearly every one) has issues in terms of ...me not receiving timestamped emails when they are delivered, software crashes, and shaky user interface. When I used the iPhone, none of those issues were prevalent, and the phone just felt more 'refined' ...however you want to define that. To each his own, I suppose.

I bought a new 3gs for $200 in nov '09, and its still works as good as the first day I bought it. The same buddy of mine mentioned above,in less time, has gone through two evos(battery issues, i think) and is now on a galaxy3...almost a dime worth of phones...i dont know how you measure a phones "capability" but the iphone seems superior in that instance.Comment -

#31Ahead of Wednesday's mega-launch of the all-singing, all-dancing, all-happy-ending-providing (rumor) iPhone 5, the stunning reality is that a recent poll (via CouponCodes4U) found that 81% of consumers admitted they could not keep up with the latest and greatest from Apple - and worse still that 51% used credit to buy one of the must-have iDevices.
As The Street notes, the findings of the survey show "the crazy lengths people will go to be the first person to have the latest iPhone of iPad" and the pollster was "shocked and very surprised about how many Americans freely admit that they are willing to spend their way into debt by buying Apple gadgets that they simply cannot afford."
