    White guys check in!
I want to know why many of you listen to rap. You know what I saw on the way home from the gym today, I saw two white suburban kids thumping some rap music in what must have been their parents' BMW. Red light forced them to stop and guess who pulls up along side of them. A black guy thumping rap music. The two kids turned down their bass...windows were already rolled up. How many of you would have done the same thing? Would you rep your rap music in a black neighborhood?...what about when the light turned red and a car pulled up beside you?

You guys that are listening to this stuff are supporting artists that only want your money, but would throw you to the wolves when push comes to shove. I don't understand.

I listen to rap. I like the fast flow of music has nothing to do with trying to be like the rappers.

deem, you would feel comfortable thumping that music in a black neighborhood? You wouldn't feel awkward?

The culture being glorified in rap music would rape you white guys listening to this stuff. Deep down, I think you know. That's why many turn it down and feel awkward.

It's a deep inferiority complex. White kids grow up with no identity and loathe whiteness. Rap and blacks are portrayed as the ultimate so they want to be that. When they blare rap, they make it about themselves and believe they are in association with rap/blackness "Look and listen to how cool I am, this mah shit dog". When they encounter legit blackness face to face, they become acutely aware of their phoniness. They feel unworthy and embarrassed and then step aside out of some reverence to be in the presence of the blackness they worship.

It's an important distinction between blaring it and listening privately. Just listening you are not making any statement. Blaring it in the presence of blackness makes the statement you are on the same level and are worthy as any black to rep it. They know it's not true and every wigger like Big Deem will turn it down in that situation.

I'm from the city, I'm a young kid. Hip hop in a way is an expression of feelings. Sometimes I want to say fuk, bitch, and most of the time it's combined.

I am a white male from the gulf coast and do I listen to hip hop on my own free will? The answer to that question is a no. I prefer to listen to good music....something to tickle my ear drum maybe some Lamb of God or As I Lay Dying , you know, manly stuff.

Maybe hip hop is pop culture to some, but I don't see it like that. I see it as a bunch of thugs glorifying things that most people in their right minds should be against. A lot of black folk feel this way too. Even if you weren't thumping this music around blacks, would you want to be around thugs? You realize, a thug is going to make quick work of you...because anyone tryin to fit in, who does not belong there, is going to be viewed as weak and a target. Baskets will start posting youtube videos of what happens when a white guy is in the wrong place. That's hip-hop culture though.

I like a lot of different music, including rap........Same exact scenerio has happened before and I don't turn it down, who gives a Fukk it's just a song, means nothing.......Most of the time they will give you a head nod anyway, as in "good song"

I don't blast it with subs or anything, but I sure as shit wouldn't turn the volume down because.....gasp.....a black dude pulled up next to me

Here's my take (I'm not white or male, but I have a keyboard):

They don't relate to their own culture, ie Taylor Swift, frats, beer pong, etc... they're cut from a different cloth, but they're not as bad as real black gangsters, nor do they want to be.

The biggest example is Eminem. Can't say he's really about being black, but he's not the typical white either.

Maybe wiggers should listen to Eminem?

                                                      Come on come on
I see no changes. Wake up in the morning and I ask myself,
"Is life worth living? Should I blast myself?"
I'm tired of bein' poor and even worse I'm black.
My stomach hurts, so I'm lookin' for a purse to snatch.
Cops give a damn about a negro? Pull the trigger, kill a *****, he's a hero.
Give the crack to the kids who the hell cares? One less hungry mouth on the welfare.
First ship 'em dope & let 'em deal to brothers.
Give 'em guns, step back, and watch 'em kill each other.
"It's time to fight back", that's what Huey said.
2 shots in the dark now Huey's dead.
I got love for my brother, but we can never go nowhere
unless we share with each other. We gotta start makin' changes.
Learn to see me as a brother 'stead of 2 distant strangers.
And that's how it's supposed to be.
How can the Devil take a brother if he's close to me?
I'd love to go back to when we played as kids
but things changed, and that's the way it is

                                                      Come on come on
That's just the way it is
                                                      Things'll never be the same
That's just the way it is
                                                      aww yeah

                                                      white people cmon cmon

I see no changes. All I see is racist faces.
Misplaced hate makes disgrace to races we under.
I wonder what it takes to make this one better place...
                                                      let's erase the wasted.
Take the evil out the people, they'll be acting right.
'Cause both black and white are smokin' crack tonight.
And only time we chill is when we kill each other.
It takes skill to be real, time to heal each other.
And although it seems heaven sent,
we ain't ready to see a black President, uhh.
It ain't a secret don't conceal the fact...
the penitentiary's packed, and it's filled with blacks.
But some things will never change.
Try to show another way, but they stayin' in the dope game.
Now tell me what's a mother to do?
Bein' real don't appeal to the brother in you.
You gotta operate the easy way.
"I made a G today" But you made it in a sleazy way.
Sellin' crack to the kids. "I gotta get paid,"
Well hey, well that's the way it is.

                                                      We gotta make a change...
It's time for us as a people to start makin' some changes.
Let's change the way we eat, let's change the way we live
and let's change the way we treat each other.
You see the old way wasn't working so it's on us to do
what we gotta do, to survive.

And still I see no changes. Can't a brother get a little peace?
There's war on the streets & the war in the Middle East.
                                                      Instead of war on poverty,
they got a war on drugs so the police can bother me.
                                                      And I ain't never did a crime I ain't have to do.
But now I'm back with the facts givin' 'em back to you.
Don't let 'em jack you up, back you up, crack you up and pimp smack you up.
You gotta learn to hold ya own.
They get jealous when they see ya with ya mobile phone.
But tell the cops they can't touch this.
I don't trust this, when they try to rush I bust this.
That's the sound of my tune. You say it ain't cool, but mama didn't raise no fool.
And as long as I stay black, I gotta stay strapped & I never get to lay back.
'Cause I always got to worry 'bout the pay backs.
Some buck that I roughed up way back... comin' back after all these years.
