Note to all of you crying bitching Libs

US House of Representatives has the “power of the purse,” the ability to tax and spend public money for the national government.

        Dems control the House

if you get paid on a w-2 then 0, they changed that law in 2018 as far as "unreimbursed employee expenses"

if you're self-employed (schedule c) then you can take a % of that stuff, or you can take the simplified method which is $5/ft up to 300 sq feet ($1500/year)

                When will the payment arrive?

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said he expected most people to get their payments within three weeks.

Yes it did. Almost all the posts in this thread are inaccurate though. It's really simple. Make less than $75000 single get $1200 direct de or check. It's based off your 2019 tax return or if you haven't filed 19 yet, then they'll use the 2018 return. Get an extra $500 per child under 16 claimed as a dependent.

Must be a U.S. citizen with a valid SS #. So illegals and green carders don't get anything. Neither do homeless people since you had to file a tax return or be on social security retired.

The best part though, this is my favorite part from reading the bill. Anyone behind on child support or federal student loans gets denied. No check for them. Lmfao.

When they actually send the $ now, who knows? They claim 3 weeks. I doubt that quickly but if it happens props. I think realistically it'll be more like months than weeks. Most Americans qualified for this so that's a lot of work for them to process a majority of Americans all at once. With normal tax returns it's staggered since not everyone files at the same time. E-filing and direct d have come a long way since the Bush stimulus checks though, so who knows. Maybe they really can process everyone quickly like they claim.

What's your source? Every major news outlet says it's based on 19 return info. If 19 wasn't filed then 18. I've spent about an hour reading about this today. If you didn't file a return how will they know you qualify? Better yet where will they send your check? The homeless shelter? Lmao. People on SSI don't have to file tax returns if retired but the government already has all their info. Not true with deadbeats or homeless people.

This is completely inaccurate. You still get one if you haven't filed taxes in past 2 years. It might take longer to get the check because they dont have your bank info but that does not disqualify you. Also being behind in student loans does not disqualify you. Only owed child support disqualifies you. I don't know where you get your info from but it's wrong.

So you're telling me homeless people and crackheads are gonna get the $1200? How will the IRS verify they meet the income requirements when they don't have their info? Where will they send their money to? Their dealer's house? Lmfao. Did you think it through?

I'm going by what the gov has said. Being homeless or smoking crack does not disqualify you lol. Now it's up to the homeless crackhead to contact the irs and give them mailing info. If they don't I'm sure many of them won't get one. But they are still eligible. If you have a ss number the irs knows who you are.

It's based on your AGI line 8b on 19 1040. So if they don't have your info then how do you qualify? Do you think the IRS/treasury is gonna come knock on your door and ask if you qualify? There must be a lot of deadbeats on this forum or something. Unless you're retired, you ain't getting the $$$$ if you didn't file taxes in 19 or 18. You'll see. It'll be just like the last stimulus checks.

there is no income requirement. they will have something set up to get your info if u did not file

if someone is claiming u as dependent you are not eligible

a SSN# is all that is required

I agree..However with Corona though you gotta help the working class out that are living pay check to pay check that filed and paid their taxes for 2 years.. Companies need the cash as well when shut down now to keep things afloat..

I concur with this Stim package going thru... This is a VERY bad time economically with the SHUT DOWN, unlike America has never seen before.. If you are ever gonna give freebies out it's now!!

I don't see much need to be too worried about who is most deserving right now.

The country needs everyone at all levels feeling confident enough to keep spending money, right now, and ongoing.

The biggest part of this stimulus package is the added on 600$ to peoples unemployment. So I think the average person gets like 345$ a week from unemployment..you add that 600$ on top they now getting 945$ a week. That is probably more than they were taking home after taxes when they were working

The official irs site says there's no need to do anything at all cause it's based off your most recent tax returns. The treasury site has info about how not to fall for scams. It says they will NOT ask for any personal info in accordance with the stimulus checks but the Fbi is already getting calls about scammers trying to fraud people by stealing their info. Pretty much contradicts everything you've said in reply to me in this entire thread. Please keep getting your info from cnn and other fake news though. I'll trust the people actually running the depts cutting the checks. Thanks.
