When I hear people going back and forth about why President [insert name] is better (because he has a D next to his name,) or why the other person thinks that President [insert different name] is/was the actual greatest President (because he has an R next to his name,) I'm at the point where I take a few moments out of my day to try & stop. Haven't you all listened to George Carlin explain how this whole thing really works? These corrupt evildoers in power here are "all part of a big, fancy club....AND WE AIN'T IN IT." If voting really mattered, "they wouldn't let us do it." Seriously, how is it possible that so many people are unable to think critically (at all really) but not even long enough to pause and realize that REGARDLESS OF WHO GETS ELECTED, (D or R, blue or red, black or white, etc, etc, etc) NOTHING CHANGES. Policy always stays the same.
A Presidential campaign has become a free ride (luxurious all the while) to travel around and knowingly lie right to people's faces. Everything these clowns campaign on...from "Mission Accomplished," to "Hope & Change We Can Believe in," to "Make America Great Again," and all the way to even "Build That Wall;" well, what the f*** happened?
Mission accomplished? Why, because we are still getting our young men & women killed over in the Middle East, for over EIGHTEEN YEARS STRAIGHT NOW? How about that hope & change? Do you all believe in it now? Now that Obama picked up RIGHT WHERE GEORGE "DUBYA" BUSH left off, and only escalated our push to wipe out 1+ million INNOCENT CIVILIANS (WHO DID NOTHING TO US???) Hell, Obama even implemented the "remote controlled murder strategy/weapon" on an unprecedented scale....you know, DRONES?
So now, we have put our faith in the "Almighty Trumpkin." Thank God for him and the savior he's turning out NOT TO BE. He was supposedly going to "Drain the Swamp," right? So then why is "the Swamp" turning into an outright flood of SLUDGE in the form of Wall Street execs, shady individuals who literally CRASHED OUR ECONOMY IN 2008 and then FORCED US (taxpayers) to "bail their greedy @$$es out" to the tune of almost A TRILLION F@@KING DOLLARS because they were "too big to fail." Then, to just rub salt in those deep open sounds of ours, they took that taxpayer funded bailout money and used it to GIVE UNGODLY SUMS OF MONEY, IN THE FORM OF SELF PROMOTIONS, PAY RAISES, AND YEARLY BONUSES for themselves and their criminal cohorts (oops, I meant friends, and "true Patriots" who serve this country with honor by serving in the Congress, Senate, cabinet, etc..you know...for the "good of the country!")
But, yeah other than that....I guess things are looking up, huh? As soon as we get Mexico to pay for this wall we've been hearing about...we'll be on our way in no time!!! Unless of course, history repeats itself and our best interests (us, the American people's best interests) continue to get ignored, passed off until they eventually get to NO ONE being responsible for helping us strengthen our nation, and we just eventually die from something none of us really bother to even notice; our POISONED/chemically modified FOOD SUPPLY that we are lucky to have...otherwise where would we get our daily fill of mandatory CARCINOGENS, RIGHT GUYS???
or maybe a more exciting death like eventually getting so big and fat we POP/explode in front of our cool, 55" higher than high definition, internet connected, flat screen TV's that also have the ability to SPY ON EACH OF US, AND CONDUCT SURVEILLANCE ON US ALL...just like our all-time favorite addiction...our "fixes that never fail" for our brainwashed technology junkie selves.....OUR BELOVED SOCIAL MEDIA AND OF COURSE OUR STATE OF THE ART SMARTPHONES!!!! But, of course those 2 things aren't even necessary to mention really, since they're basically as valuable to us all as our reproductive organ(s,) or some other body part(s) we wouldn't be able to exist without.
Anyway, keep on keeping on my SBR brethren, (and occasional sister.) Remember the most important thing:
Everybody in this country has the ability to go out into the world and catch their own piece of that infinitesimally small (invisible at this point in time) "pie in the sky," known as THE AMERICAN DREAM! You all certainly know what I'm referring to, right? The good old AMERICAN DREAM.......which as Carlin said many times....."They call it the American Dream, BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO BE ASLEEP TO BELIEVE IN IT!"
***(I apologize for typing such a long post, I'm just honestly always feeling obligated to try and help people understand about and let go of something that does nothing for humanity's well being, and even worse actually, ultimately seeks to divide us against each other and cause anger, hatred, and resentment. That's all politics (at least this day and age here in the US) is good for anymore. Finally, having said all that...allow me to just end by offering at least a couple options for some sort/type of solution(s) to this madness and an idea for a defense we can ALL try using/practicing, to combat this daily swarm of emotional manipulation that we are prone to be drowned in:
Solutions/Defense Strategies:
• Spend more time with the people you care about most in this world.....AND SPEND THAT TIME INTERACTING, IN PERSON.
• Go out of your way to do something nice for a stranger (once a day, or however often you feel comfortable with at first...) Hold the door for someone who is entering a store you're walking into, when they're right behind you. Even if it's rush hour traffic....actually.... ESPECIALLY when it's rush hour traffic......let a car/driver go in front of you; AS MANY TIMES AS THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC WILL ALLOW! This might just be the thing they needed to feel like you just "made their day."
• Last, but not least, and moreso than just "not least," MOST IMPORTANT: Remember the so called "Golden rule" of life as taught by many ancient spiritual practices, religious texts, etc, etc....and not only remember the "Golden Rule," but try to live by it 24/7. (In case your recollection fails you here.....)
The "Golden Rule" says/teaches: Always try your best to treat people with respect. Show them grace, mercy, forgiveness, and ANY OTHER acts of kindness/generosity, that you would want/expect that person, as well as anyone & everyone else, to turn around and show you in return!Comment -
