two ridiculous comments from the right, one claims he believes in climate change but not global warming. omg, the warming of world temperatures is what is directly causing the much greater intensity of these new storms. storms that were once called one in 500 years are now happening with regularity.
the other clown is annoyed because this may not happen for 20 years or so, well it is happening now and what type of argument is that. well, it will only affect my kids and grandkids so I don't give a fck.
you know somebody mentioned cows and how they contribute, and they do. and you know what, we would be healthier if we ate less red meat and maybe even became nonmeat eaters.
have you ever heard of a city in California called Loma Linda? the population consists of many Seventh-day Adventists. that is another Protestant flavor and those people are very serious about health. Almost all of them are vegetarians, non-smokers, non-drinkers and guess what else, they live longer than most other Americans. check it out.
you know what else is a great argument that I can make. first, let me be 100% truthful, I personally love a great steak cooked on the grill. I eat them very seldom, but in fact, I love almost any dead meat cooked on a grill. and more than likely so do you. but here is the thing my friend that type of cooking and red meat, in particular, is not good for you if you partake in it often.
second, when high heat hits meat of any kind, meaning high heat grilling, a chemical reaction occurs called the Maillard reaction. that is what causes the great aroma and the great taste of charred meat, especially cooked on the grill. that is why we all love the taste of meat cooked this way. if it wasn't dangerous I would eat it every day. as of right now I eat it only on rare occasions, maybe four or five times a year. I know some of you are thinking, fck you, I will eat what I want and that is your prerogative, I am simply giving you facts. If you eat red meat or processed meat or meat cooked at high temperature every day you are leaving yourself susceptible to a few different cancers.
life is life and you can't protect yourself from every bad thing, but you can mitigate the bad. you can be aware of the bad and you can do things to make yourself less of a target. for example, eat less of that food, when you prepare it use an acid-based marinade that helps reduce that chemical reaction.
I only thought about this thread because one of you wrote about cows, and I immediately thought of how, if we were more like the Seventh-day Adventists, we would be healthier. Plus, it will help mediate climate change.
and yet even today we have some complete crazies on the right denying it. they would deny that water is usually wet.
