Everyone in this HU tournament should get a refund
There are no rounds, the structure is crazy. People with 6000 chips playing those with 3000. We dropped the ball on this one.

As Rudy mentioned in a thread awhile back... if SBR ever wants to be taken seriously in regards to poker, they really need to hire someone that knows something about it.

Made it to the semi finals after lucking up in only 3 matches. Played a player with nearly twice the chips as me. It's not fair that he had to play so many more matches than me either. I understand that there won't be an even amount of players per tournament, but it's like as soon as you win you're shuttled off to another match instead of waiting for the round to finish.
Also, with structured rounds, two players could just fold themselves to the money.

Good point, Dane. Two players could have folded themselves into the money.

It's shocking that this wasn't mentioned before the tournament.
So it's either you stall and make it deep, or just try to bust everyone fast so you go to the next table with the chip lead.

It wasn't mentioned cuz of the cluelessness on SBR's part. Completely lost.
As you know, there isn't any legitimate HU tourney run like this.

Yeah I was in shock when I went to my third match with a 6000-3000 starting stack. Ended up losing, good job Dane, but it does suck that I had to beat two people before I met him. I think they will fix things for next week. Was a nice turn out at least. Maybe if they address this issue people will play again next week.

I don't think one person would have cried about this tournament if SBR had ran it right. How is it right that it is possible for the winner of a heads up tournament to win the whole tournament with say 3 wins against another player that had say 6 wins before losing to that player?
That and the fact that if you are in a tough match and play 3 times as long before winning your match you are now set up with someone with three times as many starting chips as u just because u took longer to get the win.

Was my first HU tournament, so I was not sure how they would handle it.
Of course players should know this before the tournament begins.
But now everyone knows what to do next time:
Collect as many points as possible till you reach the final table.
(and the only way to do is, is to win your tables as fast as possible)
