Player rating feature sux

I had a session where I won around 1200 points and it went down. Conversely I've also had disastrous sessions where my rating went up. It's pretty silly.

1. check out my badges (no significant poker scores)

2. check my points history (set to points into poker then points cashed out of poker)

3. guess my player ranking

anyone that hits on the button up until midnight will win 100 points (to be paid in the distant future when i actually have points, but will pay) 1 guess per person, 1 winner only

the ratings suck because anyone who has a wide opening range gets there rating depleted it seems like

Yeah and if you play short handed it seems to be lower. So I'll drop my guess down to 1480.

exactly, anyone who plays shorthanded just gets pounded. a lot of the guys who come and sit down with 40-80bbs to play HU are like 1400's and when u play against them every time you lose a hand you just go free falling.

I dont care about the rating. Since it the formula for it is not published, it does not seem to really corelate to the better/successful players and the player ratings are not published, it means little.

While it does not happen often, there have been times when the Sanctuary table is running and no others are open. It is really frustrating that I cannot play at that table where I see others that I do not have any significant edge over.

Abolish the sanctuary tables... Please.

Give it a day. Usually when I check I'm 1600's. Then one day I look and it's 2300. The next day I was down to 1400. The ratings thing is very "quirky", to be kind.

I'm 1508 right now. From Dec 1st to about Jan 15th, I ran my points from around none to 9000 playing poker and I stayed around a 1400-1450 rating.

LOL. I almost never look at the rating, but the last time I did I had a rating >1900. This thread inspired me, so I looked today: 1450. I don't play ring a lot, but I cash out 90% of the rollover points with more than I started with. Based on my score and the ratings of many skilled people in people in this thread, it seems the rating system is absolutely worthless. Hell, it might even be more accurate if it assigned a random number.

And just to add to the comments proving the thing is junk, I once finished 1st in a tournament and went down in rating (back when the system was new).

If you don't play cash(point) games for awhile your rating gets reset to 1400.
