    These poker tournaments:
Are any of the poker tournaments not subject to rollover? As in you just get the points if you win? I thought it was just b/c I was a non-pro before that I had to get through a 3X rollover to acquire the points won in a tournament. So what exactly is the benefit of winning these tournaments besides the little squares under your name saying what place you finished on what date? You're either gonna come out ahead after the rollover period, in which you win the same amount if you played in the cash game with the actual points, or you're gonna miss out and lose some or all the points trying to rollover. Quite the edge for SBR eh?

*disclaimer: this thread may or may not be the direct result of losing all my tournament points tonight in the most goddamn cold-deckingest ways imaginable; never making a pair or hitting any draw ever.

Oh my God never mind. I'm a dummy. I wish I could delete this thread; maybe it's better that I can't, it shames and taunts me for my stupidity.

    As you were SBR.

Actually, the 1st question still stands: Are there tournaments that you just get the points right away instead of having to roll over?

Yeah, but look how many points they pay out tho, that's what I missed in my original rant. For example last night's game had 100 players @ 10 + 1 buy in. So there should have been 1000 points to play for, but they actually paid out way more than that (1st place got 1000 pts to roll over alone). So in essence SBR is gambling themselves that everyone that places doesn't just dominate the cash game and clean up. I'm sure there's some kind of minimal house edge, but I'm cool with the way it's set up.

Well it doesn't really make a difference if the player crushes their rollover or not because someone will get the points regardless. Unless SBR had bots placed to play in the cash games

unfortunately that is correct and for those that dont know- the solution is prize amount reduction.
