terrible start to 10 AM.

Dealt KK as big blind. Everyone folds except no1raises to 100. I reraise, he calls.

He had A9 off and ended up catching an ace on the flop

Why do people keep calling with inferior hands?

Back in it. Called a raise with J10 hearts preflop, so when Fuzzy re-raised small and everyone else folded, I called.

Flop was 10J10, and Fuzzy keeps shoving. I go all in. He calls. He had AK, so no hand. Full house beat pair of 10s.

Got A10 several times, got JK. Had to fold 'em all. Best I ever wound up with was a gutshot straight post-flop and someone raised every time, so I couldn't justify calling.

Playing in few tourneys today...haven't been able to catch the breaks I needed to place in these lately...so hopefully a little due theory comes my way. Went to BN and picked up Dan Harrington's Tournament book. Will read and write a review when I am finished.

Checked out Greenstein's Ace on the River..so far I'm about a third of the way through the book and it's more of an entertaining read than anything. Almost feels like a conversation, in which Greenstein rambles off about things that would impress average poker players. Towards the later half of the book, more strategy is discussed. Believe it or not this and many other poker books can be checked out at the local library. Great way to weed through the money ploys and find legit books...highly recommend checking there first. -HE

wikkid kept getting AA somehow (at least three times) and my best hand was KJ off or QJ hearts. Might've had a10 off once.

I did have a full house (k/8) at one point but only one person was in the hand with me and he folded to a small bet.

Greensteins Ace on the river is not really a strategy book. more like insight from the mind of a professional about the ins and outs of poker

every time I called, mysterymung raised big behind me.

called with jq,then folded to big raise

down to 500, 150/300, called with a3 diamonds with blinds about to hit, another big raise. with only 200 left, I had to call.He had JJ. Ace did hit, but only after a jack hit first. trips beat pair of aces.

finished 14th. I do everything I can just to get to final table to break the curse, but nothing works.

You'd think once I could get a tournament where I get good cards, but it hasn't happened this month. No high pairs again. Nothing better than JQ or A8 until the end where I got AK and people folded to it.

Come to think of it, no pairs at all. Now you tell me the odds of lasting this long and not having a pair.

Sat down (5dimes) and the first hand was AA in the big blind. Guy raises early, small blind calls, I reraise, and both call. Flop comes J, 3, & 6. Small blind raises, I reraise, and the other folds. I am thinking did this guy hit trips? If he did, he most likely would have checked and hoped that I'd bet. I reraise for some information and he calls. Next card is irrelevant because he's holding JJ (small blind) and it's as ugly as you'd imagine. His leading out really fooled me and what can you do. One hand, crippled, and I know better than to keep playing...lol. May play tomorrow...

I don't play for cash anymore.

I played in a few tournaments at DSI but almost all were -EV because they kept registration open for about 2 hours after the start, meaning that a ton of people joined (they looked good because only about [example] $1,000 in entries had joined and it was 3,500 guarantee).

Lost maybe $100 on tournament entry fees and re-buys and now only do freerolls.

Had a nice session today and made roughly 1.5 the buy-in....maybe it was Greenstein's book lol. Funny thing, I read until I got to chapter on poker and sexuality...definitely was something you won't find in any other books lol. My conclusion on this book is that it is perfect for a newer players or experienced ones, who have mild cases of ADD (glossy pages, tons of pictures, and interesting stories). Since last post, sat down at another table. First hand...AA in the big blind....Guy three bets someone else and it comes to me. I push all-in and he calls with 55 and I take him down. One hand a double-up! awww...redemption is so sweet!

I assume you mean the Sat. that's already taking registration. It has the point totals listed, 700 for first, right? Are there additional prizes or something?

Bad day at poker today, lost in a tourney with AQ against a guy who said he had to leave and called me with 52 and hit a two...then in the ring game i lost with KK against QQ all in preflop, of course he hit a Q.

I was told there are bigger prizes on saturday. I've never played in one, though.

have a 6, already 578, stayed in hand because everyone keeps checking. River comes 9, someone bets 300. I reraise to 750. He goes all in. I call. Turns out he had 10J for a higher straight.

Left with 104 chips now.

Finished 13/57.

Finished 15th in the 11:15 at DSI when I could've folded my way into the money.

J10, flop comes 10JQ. Guy raises. I reraise. He goes all in. I call with my 8k or so chips. Turns out he had 89, which makes me wonder what the hell he was doing in the hand in the first place.
Still could've won had the turn or river been a J or 10, but they were 2 of spades and ace of spades.

Unreal. 15/276. Getting bubbled at DSI now too.

Called a shortstack allin someone, who had JJ. I had AQ and got the A on the river.

Later, called another shove with KQ. One had JJ, another had 78. 78J came out, but I hit a straight to king. The JJ guy had straight to Jack.
