#2seems legit, not surprising.
Sucks, Bodog Poker was a cash cow for me. I guess we only have only five months left to milk it.Comment -

#3from two plus two
To clarify today's announcement, while BodogBrand is leaving the US market at the end of the year, the operator, Morris Mohawk Gaming Group will remain servicing the players it has for the last 4+ years. This will be, in essence, a branding change. You will still have the same offerings that are available to you now as MMGG will remain on the Bodog Poker Network. In the end the only anticipated player facing change will be a new name and branding. If you have any further questions Customer Service will be happy to answer them.
This is directed at US players only, for International players you can contact Bodog in your region if you have any questions.Comment -

#4Thanks for the additional details.
Ya, I have not looked into this too much. Just saw it out there and noticed that this had not been posted here yet so I thought I would throw it out there.
Cheers.Comment -

#14I'm gonna throw up. I am playing Bodog for 150 player points so I can qualify for a monthly $2500 freeroll. Don't want to lose another gravy train. One of the few. Requested a withdrawal on a 3rd site this month. Just can't rely on the system working much longer.Comment -

#16I recently requested a courier check a few Fridays ago, it came the next Monday (i.e. 0 business days!). Somebody has to sign for the check though so make sure somebody is home! I also live in a big city (Los Angeles) so it make take longer if you live in some backwoods place like Idaho.Comment -

Why not just renew same name after 2011 for familiarity since it really is a ubiquitous presence online. A name change could very well be unrecognizable to new players and that might deter future sign ups.Comment -

#25They aren't leaving and will continue to accept new US sign ups. Nothing is expected to change from all the information I gathered. US players will still play against everyone on Bodog outside the US. Seems like it may be a way for Bodog to insulate itself a bit from US authorities???????Comment -

#26Because BodogBrand.com will not allow MMGG to renew the license. Patrick Selin, CEO of Bodog Europe, was recently granted a UK license and he actually initiated this move by Bodog brand to exit the US market because this UK license is very valuable he doesn't want any scandals that would affect the UK license (Calvin agrees).Comment -

Are you saying BodogBrand has a UK license waiting in the wings for MMGG after expiration of current license - is that the gist of it?
If that's the case then the same name probably can be still intact but with a UK based suffix of some sort.Comment -

#30Sorry, that is not what I'm saying. Bodog UK was granted a UK license by the UK Gambling Commission. Bodog UK is a completely separate company than MMGG. MMGG has been licensing out the Bodog brand name from BodogBrand.com since late 2006 and BodogBrand.com is not going to allow this license to be renewed. The MMGG operations (currently bodog.eu, soon to be branded as something else) have a license from the KGC (Kahnawake Gaming Commission) and MMGG will keep this license for the new brand as well.Comment -
