    Omaha Hi/Lo
can anyone explain to me the difference between Omaha Hi/Lo and Omaha 8's or better? Are they the same game under different names? Thanks.

In practice the first guy who responded was correct, but technically speaking there's a difference. In the strictest sense in Omaha hi/lo the best high hand takes half the pot and the best low hand takes half the pot. In omaha 8 or better the best low hand only takes half the pot if the highest card used in the 5 card low hand is an 8 or lower. If there's no low hand that qualifies the best high hand wins the entire pot.

Admittedly this is splitting hairs, as straight omaha high low with no qualifier is not spread in any live or online cardroom to my knowledge. People will usually abbreviate omaha high low 8 or better to just omaha hi/lo, O8B, O8, limit omaha or whatever. If you're talking about omaha hi/lo in poker circles people will just assume you mean 8 or better, but as I said before, if you really want to get technical there is a difference.
