I wonder if the time slots can be altered at all. It is kind of silly to only have 3 of the 12 slots after work hours for the West. I doubt this was even thought of when dividing the USA into regions.

Thanks Frank, that definitely does help. But basically it seems like brndg23, sportfan, funnyb25, and TireMan are all saying they can absolutely only play 9, 10, 11 EST on W/Th/F. Obviously no way to fit them all given that (and not to mention myself who really will have a tough time playing earlier than those times as well on Tu + Th). Brndg23's post is a bit unclear, he says 6-12, not sure what that means, PM'd him asking to clarify. If he is able to do others, maybe we are fine, but otherwise one of those four will have to bend, otherwise we will forfeit a game on each of those three days.

Ok, well we clearly have trouble here, as many people are saying they can only play 9/10/11 on various days due to work. Frank has stated he can play earlier though it's not desirable. Is anyone else able to bend at all. If not, there is no way to make the schedule taking all of these restrictions into account.

Oh, ok....I read this...thought he was referring to the EST slots as they are listed in the poker lobby. Guess not, my bad.

Got some clarification for brndg23 so I think this might actually work. Many thanks to franklee68 for being willing to take an earlier slot as no way this can work without his willingness to do that. Only other non-ideal thing is for me on Thursday playing at 4:00 EST which is really not great for me but funnyb25/Tireman/sportfan say they absolutely can only play in the late slots on Thursday which is what I really need on that day also. So will have to do that.

Problem with that is I will be at work where class finishes at 4:00 EST exactly so likely will be a few minutes late (have to boot up laptop right after and such). And frankly having tried to play from there before, I've had connection issues with SBR poker there before. Hopefully won't be a problem but can't make any guarantee (ok I can't guarantee there wouldn't randomly be an internet issue at my home/a power outage etc. either but just saying chances are much higher at work that there could be an issue). If that happens, am sorry, obviously am not intentionally trying to let down the team, but this seems to be the only way to make the schedule work for everyone.

So if you are ok with this schedule please confirm below. If this is set, I would ask everyone to please register for your tournaments as early as possible so we can be sure everyone is prepared - please do not wait until the last minute to register for your tourney!! Have had that happen in past years, and it was always frustrating scrambling at the last minute when we weren't sure if the person in question was going to show up! So please register early! Tourneys go up well before they actually start so there is no reason to wait until last minute to register. At the very least register an hour before your tourney, but again the earlier the better.

So if that's all out of the way, let's just go win this darn thing! West is the Best!!

So if I can't get one of those spots, then the only time slot where I can try to play from work is at 4 (like frank, that's kind of my lunch hour). Really nothing else will work on that day.

Thanks to all of you as well for being so responsive and doing your best to try to make the schedule work - would obviously be a pity if we forfeited any games. This contest is often very, very close so don't want to give our opponents a free edge!

Ok, great - seems like everyone has confirmed! So hopefully are set with this. If any last second emergency requires a change, please speak up immediately. Granted we might not be able to find a solution, but better to know earlier rather than later.

I think we have finalized our schedule before any of the other teams, so that's something - grab the small edges where we can!

we're having the same problem due to work schedules, too many players need the after 6pm times..... as of now we'll be forfeiting one of the early trnies each day if we can't find some flexibility.... if all teams have a jam, we could probably agree to move the earliest time to make it an hour later.....

Once again, everyone being in roughly the same time zone (on the US Teams anyway) makes for a different dynamic than past years. Another reason why it might be good to do away with this geographic breakdown for the US teams in future years!

But that aside, I do also wonder: why are not at least a couple of days of the Finals on the weekend? Seems like that would really make things easier on the teams.

Lol...Not a chance. I already tried that.

Yes, would have been nice if that were the case from the start, an extra late spot in exchange for an early spot would have made things much easier on us in terms of scheduling (not to mention would have been easier for me than what Thursday is going to end up being). But yeah no way this late/close to it they are going to change that, just have to live with it and do our best to make it work even if undesirable in certain ways.
