I saw you had a big lead Jake. If this somehow gets cancelled or whatever (which seems likely unfortunately given what has happened historically), that would really be unfair. But rarely when such things happen is there a truly fair solution ugh.

There's a truly fair solution for intellectuals, score 1-8 from the disconnect chip totals.
Jake was 1st at the time, give him the 300pts. Score 2nd-8th same way, do the right thing SBR.
Even a password protected makeup tourney is unfair, due to same starting chip stacks.

That's a completely unfair solution - no matter who it favors/doesn't favor. By that logic if just after the tournament starts, say some person wins the first hand and gets up to 1600 chips while basically all others stay at 1500, and the tournament then crashes I guess Mr. 1600 should get 300 points for winning since he was technically #1 when the disconnect occurred??
By similar logic if it was down to heads up with one person having 21000 chips the other 19000 and the tournament then crashes, Mr. 21000 should automatically get the win? That's ridiculous, and if you can't see that, well I don't know what to tell you.
The closest thing to a fair solution would be to pay out all players still left in the tourney according to the % of chips they had when the tourney crashed from the total prize fund. If Jake say had 25% of the chips in play, he should get 1/4th of the 800 total prize fund. Of course that's not necessarily going to be considered fair by all, but it's far better than just paying people according to what place they were in when the tourney crashed.
That said, I don't see SBR doing either thing based on history. I fear the tourney will just get cancelled and those who were in it (or those who are in the 11 PM like myself) are probably just out of luck - we'll wind up with one less tourney. Of course far worse for those who were in the 8 PM and still alive but again historically that's what I would expect will occur.
Thanks for the info guys. I was on my third laptop thinking my first two had issues. I also blame unde for crashing the set up. Thanks bro!

Pretty simple to do an ICM payout, just add stack sizes into the calculator.... not sure why this isn't done its basically a poker standard, no that we do standard things here lol.

I agree - this is by far the closest to "fair" thing that could be done. But yes the fact that it's never been done before here (despite many such similar incidents), I somehow doubt it will suddenly happen now.
Hard to know without knowing what's wrong with the software, but does SBR even have access to what the chip counts were at the time of the crash? That could be a reason why they haven't done that in past - no idea.

I'm not able to register. So the 11pm will not be played as well.
PS. Btw, the registered people are seating and the current status: running!
Still can't register for 11pm and it's about to begin. I just won my last tournament and trying to get something going.

Well I was registered for the 11 PM (I reg'd before the crash so I was one of the few who was able to get in). Since the tournament isn't going to run (so it seems at this moment anyway), I was therefore tied for the chip lead in that event when it went down. So I guess by bobbywaves logic I ought to get 300 points (just as all others who managed to register for the 11 PM should)!
