#4Only made it through a minute of this nonsense. "Not the great ambassadors that we were". It's a fukking poker tournament. You aren't important, Joe. Take your money and time and give back and leave it at that. The second you called yourself some kind of saint you lost all respect. As if having a family makes you any more or less capable of being altruistic.
Poker was bound to die as quickly as it arose. What a joke this guy is. Thinks he's up there with Gandhi.Comment -

#5Hachem mad that he's not relevant anymore, what a douche. I somewhat agree that poker isn't as much fun anymore with the young guns treating it like a business and not enjoying it but those are the players who are left. I like to talk and joke around at the table but to each their own, whatever works.Comment -

#6guy is delusional. says the new young guns worry too much about the money aspect of the game, yet he won a billion dollars in a few days in one tournament.Comment -

#8Fuk him, yeah poker is dead? umm ok, I guess all those ever increasing jackpots and entries in the WSOP along with pending online poker legislation, spells death to poker. Time for Hachem to hop on his kangaroo and ride off into the sunset.Comment -

#9The poker craze started late and ended early in Australia. That might be part of what drives his opinion.
Agree that US legalization will bring back more interest in Australia too..Comment -

Hachem only trying to cling to his minor fame because he's flat busted now.
Plays 2-5 and 1-2 NL now and probably not even on his own money.
Was never a good poker player.
Just one of many who had a couple sick runs in big fields and tried acting (Horribly) like he was skilled.Comment -

#14Spoken like a guy that can't win anymore. No doubt he is getting crushed.
This guys luckboxes deep in a big one and thinks he is can play. Was too scared to play high-stakes and/or online cause he knows he will be outplayed.
He has a point in terms of poker being less enjoyable now, and that comes from professionalism.
Cricket's golden age was in the 80's. David Boon drinking 4million beers on a flight from London to Sydney. Those characters and mindset made the sport interesting, but wouldn't cut it these days of professionalism.
If Hachem wants to get back to those days in poker he's better off playing $10 pub poker. Where the more you drink the more chips you're awarded and self-dealing allows for 4 hands an hour.

#15Maybe Gold and Yang knew they got lucky and wanted to keep some of their cash instead of being a "good champion" and losing it all back?Comment -

#22Might be true for Yang, but Gold was clueless about his own skill level and lost a ton of it back... wouldn't be surprised if he's back where he was before his winComment
