I provide the best medical insurance possible for myself and my family. #18It made no sense to pay $200 to renew my pro status so I didn't do it. I'm a die-hard conservative and you're a dead beat liberal, do you really believe you're better off financially than I am? Yes, you do play poker but anyone can sit down at a poker table and get their rear end handed to them every night.

Everyone seems to hate you in this forum. I wonder why that is?You're a bigger fuk'in dumbass that I thought. Yeah, keep criticizing the very thing that will bring healthcare costs down even for your stupid ass and insure millions of Americans who can now afford healthcare. You right wing assholes are all the same, me ,me, fuk'in me! You don't have a clue about the work'in class Americans in this country who keep it moving fuk head.
All you jerks care about is how much you can fuk over the poor and middle class. At least now parents can keep their kids on their insurance until they are 24. Insurance companies can no longer drop children or people with pre existing conditions. Maybe if you took the time to read the entire Affordable Health Care Act, you might just learn something andy. Of course tea party douche bags like you never will get it, because your head is shoved so far up your ass, you can't see any light at all, just darkness, and that is sad, really fuk'in sad.
Bottom line is, you're an ignorant racist who can't stand that a black man is in the white house, can't stand that a black man found and killed with worse fuk'in terrorist in our history, something no dumb ass republican could ever do. Can't stand that a black man stood up for everyone in this country not just the filthy rich.
All you fuk'ers have ever done is shut down the government, cost people their jobs, homes, security, and created constant grid lock. Your party is the whiny fuk'in babies who think they can stop the government process when they don't get their way. You're unable to compromise for fear you might have to share some of the wealth and benefits to all. It kills your lily white asses that a black man basically told you to shut the fuk up! And that my poor unintelligent friend is why you assholes will never control or have presidential power in this country ever again.
Oh and by the way andy, I don't hate you or anybody, I consider all you right wing zealots worthy adversaries. We have our views on life and the best way to go about living it. The only difference being, I look toward the future and what kind of world I want to leave my kids, you on the other hand could give a rat's ass about preserving the environment or saving anything for future generations. You don't care about giving anything back and charity is a dirty word to you greedy assholes. Admit it andy, you're so fuk'in tight you can't even give up a measly $200 to turn pro at a web site that has given out thousands of dollars to its members and charitable organizations. Why the fuk are you even here?Last edited by mikejamm; 12-03-13, 05:58 AM.Comment -

#19Andy, mike, let me save ya some time fellas: you're both wrong
If you want adversaries, go play a game where the stakes aren't the future of several hundred million people. Arguably the biggest single problem with US poltics is that it's 2 party, and that vast majority of people are so entrenched in that way of thinking they oversimplify, generalize and generally just ignore the truth about most of the issues. If you somehow believe against the evidence that the ACA will reduce healthcare costs (it pretty much can't by definition), that just means you're overly optimistic about what could be, to the point where you've lost focus on what will be. Republicans and Democrats act almost identically in this way, just on different issues...but the prevalent theme for both parties is increasing federal government regulation of every aspect of our lives.
As someone who didn't vote or either Mitt, McCain or Obama, I feel ike I can objectively say that Obama's record is pretty terrible. Not only does he completely own his own healthcare failures (completely predictable, as history has shown us most of what the government touches turns to crap) but he's also responsible for continuing the legacies of Bush (another terrible president) that he was arguably elected to stop. He's ramped up the war on terror (or more accurately, the US' crating of terrorism by terrorizing 3rd world countries and fueling the only reason they hated us that much to begin with, becase we keep killing their families) and has killed more women and children than terrorists....this might be the reasons Nobel Peace Prizes are usually given out after the peace, and for better reaons than the perosn isn't George Bush.
As I said, most so-called conservatives aren't any better...they want the government out of their business on some issues, but want the government to step in and force their higly subjective morality on others. Neither party has a very consistnt or logical platform, and we can see where their desire for increased government control has brought us: to the edge of ruin, with debt so crippling even a dreaded "government shutdown" (which shutdown less than 20% of the government) still left us spending far more than we take in for revenue. I personally want the government to mind it's own business and stop minding mine when I do things that don't harm anyone else. If I smoke weed, that's my business, not Republicans' (who screw it up when the War on Drugs ends up just raising prices, incentivizing gang violence and taking productive members out of society). If I want to support the needy or give to charity, that should be my choice, not Democrats' (who screw it up when the federal assistanc programs are rife with abuse, as could be predicted by any program which is applied so broadly and incentivizes people not to take care of themselves because somoene else wil pay for the consequences). There are several third parties whose platforms are a lot more consistent and logical, and a good place to start from for forming a political philosphy that makes sense and respects the rights enshrined by the Constituion. If we continue down this path, we really have nobody to blame but ourselves when we end up right where anyone could have predicted: broke, constantly bickering and scorned by the rest of the world.
On a lighter note, paying $200 to go pro doesn't make sense for a lot of people. Andy doesn't play poker here, and likely doesn't cursh the sportsbook enough to make it worth his while...why would he go pro, instead of donating $200 to a charity of his choice (and being completely sure that the money's going where he wants it to)? I don't donate through SBR for the samereason: whe I give, I don't do it haphazardly...I do what I can to make sure it's going to the causes want to support. Not accusing SBR of anything, but I prefer certainty.
Now let's get back on topic...I'll start us off: Is mikejamm really thecentaur's ghost? DiscussComment -

#20Nice statement Trip and yes I am the Centaur's ghost, living in Canada, claiming to be American while using a vpn to post from New Zealand! Those crazy kiwi's brew a nice pale ale up here!
In all serious though, you raise some excellent points, some I respectfully disagree with, but most are absolutely true and right on target. Has our president made mistakes, yes indeed, but all of them have bro. We too often forget these guys are human just like you and me and being the leader of the free world is gotta be one of the most stressful jobs known to man. I for sure as hell would not want to do it and you're never going to be able to please everybody.
That being said the man has had some great successes and has reached across the isle far beyond what Bush or any republican controlled house would ever do. I agree, Republicans and Democrats act almost identically on several issues pertaining to their parties own self benefit and that of their constituents. Which is why we have the government shit sling fest, get nothing done, in office now. I, just like you, don't blame the right or the left, it's both of their dumb asses. And when you have small fractions of radical ignorant minded individuals, like the tea party, it only makes the problem worse. It's to the point now where a small group of politicians can block the whole process of compromising and at least trying to find some middle ground where we can all meet and come to some agreement.
I see this as second term destruction, no matter who is in office, it's a known fact, since that president is in his final term, the other side will go outta their fuk'in way to block, turn against, and filibuster every issue, just to make the man and his party look bad. You've got to remember what President Obama has accomplished though Trip, He said he would bring the troops home and he's done that. The wars in Afghanistan and Iraq are ending and as he stated, it is up to Afghan soldiers and citizens to learn to defend themselves. We would have been out of there sooner, if not for republicans insisting we keep a continued presence in that country. And left up to them, we'd still be in a war over there and losing the lives of Americans. President Obama didn't start this mess, but he was the one who had to come in and clean it up. Give him some credit for having the balls to say no more fuk'in wasteful wars!
Also, President Obama authorized the use of more drones, so we could target just those fuk'ers who are the actual terrorists and not kill innocent civilians. When you can use intelligence and a pin point strike on a terrorist safe house or a car he's riding in, that makes way more sense than carpet bombing a whole city or town like Bush and Cheney did.
40 million plus Americans don't have healthcare in this country Trip, and another 20 million are under insured and their healthcare is a bullshit scam, ie.. get a serious illness and they drop your ass and cancel your policy. I know people wanna bitch and moan about the hassle and the roll out problems, but if you look long term you will see it will make a difference and healthcare costs will drop considerably once everybody is in the pool. That's the way it works man, the larger the group of people you have in there, young, old, rich, middle class, poor, the better it's gonna be. It creates a larger group of individuals who now won't get stuck with bearing the make up cost of those who don't have health insurance. Somebody has got to pay when a uninsured person ends up in the emergency room and those costs are past along in higher premiums for those who do have coverage.
Plus, think about be able the get preventative care. Most people wait until they are so sick or racked with a life threatening disease before they finally get to a doctor. By then its usually too late and the sky rocketed costs of treating a person at that stage is astronomical. Wouldn't you want your wife, girlfriend or mom to find breast cancer in it's early stage because she could get a mammogram without the hassle of a damn insurance company saying "no we wont' cover that". Or what about your kids (if you have any like me), insurance companies have been fuk'ing over families with children for years. God forbid your child is born with a birth defect or needs a surgery to save his life, you talk about going to war, that's exactly what you had to do under the old system! Not anymore. This AHCA will save lives and will help us all to live healthier.
I understand people don't like change. And the media and the right make sure the point out all the problems and exaggerate the lies. But you've got the give the man credit Trip for tackling a long serious problem in our country that should've been solved long ago. I don't like intrusive government any more than anyone else does, but sometimes it does work. Are we gonna just stand around while large corporations, insurance companies and banks control everything. Look what happened when Bush and Cheney gave control of the housing regulations and lending practices to these greedy bastards. They destroyed our economy and we're still reeling from it.
There aren't many great leaders who come along and make such a difference that everyone is able to say, the man had a vision, and sought to make the world a better place. The last one I only know from history, was John F. Kennedy. And even then, the evil of man kind silenced him. I know a lot people aren't ever gonna agree with what our president is trying to accomplish, namely because he's black and they can't even get passed that. The fact still remains, he was voted in by the the majority twice, into a job from day one to your last people are going to hate on you and criticize everything you do. He's still a human being just like the rest of us and his good intentions and accomplishments are worthy of respect.Last edited by mikejamm; 12-05-13, 05:53 AM.Comment -
