Greatest gin-rummy player that ever lived. He played another top gin-rummy pro, and won 85 matches 85-0.

Action dried up after that, as nobody wanted to play him. he couldn't even enter tournaments becuase they wouldn't let him because everyone said they wouldn't play if he entered.

Just saw poker after dark clip with hellmuth talking about him. stupid announcer talked over him, but hellmuth briefly talks about how he was super agressive, had great instinct, and was amazing player.
