I've heard that you run into a small errors in using this calulator as they run the hands through a smaller then necessary sample size instead of actually figuring the math (which I would assume would be complicated) or using a larger sample size... I run combinations through multiple times and come up with slight variations of the statistics but yea if you want a rough estimate of how often your hand should hold up this is a good first start....

I don't think that ods calculators are very useful. Its better to use poker analysis software, such as, for example, poker leak buster

If you're not using PT3/HEM and Pstove/Flopzilla/STOXEV you're way behind the game. There are a few others as well if you multi table like AHK scripts and sites like PTR/Sharkscope that come in handy as well. I don't play SNG's or MTT's but i think there are programs out there that help with that maybe SNG wizard or SNG analyzer?

Once you see the flop just find out your number of outs and multiply the outs by 4. On the turn multiply your outs by 2. This will give you a close estimate to the percentage of the time you will make your hand. You have 2 cards in your hand and there's 3 on the flop, leaving 47 out there and 46 after the turn. By using these simple numbers you're changing 47 and 46 into 50, but the calculation is still fairly close. You can bump up the percentage slightly after doing the simple math, but using this process you can quickly determine your outs and make fast decisions.

poker dummy is right .those machines will never help you once you start to play for real there is substitute for you own intuition ..besides how do play multi tables with these things

You don't multi table while using stove or any of the other programs. They are used for scenarios/session review (i.e. equity calcs) and all these things happen away from the table. You do need either HEM or PT if you multi table. In fact if you're not using either one of these programs while multi tabling you're at a huge disadvantage. Intuition is also over rated. All it comes down to is whether the decision is +EV or not.

yea HEM is used for something completely different than odds and can/should be used during the game (some sites dont allow it though)

pokerstove & http://www.sitngo-analyzer.com/ are two of the best.

IMO, PT3 is better for cash games and tournaments for smaller sites like bodog where you see the same players on a more frequent basis.
