    Hand of the day 08/09
Final table of a tournament with 6 players left. Hero has led wire to wire and is pushing the smaller stacks around and has twice the chips of anyone else at the table. LAG Villain is the best of the smaller stacks.
Payout structure isn't listed, but I'm assuming everyone has made the money and it's a live tournament with a decent buy in.

Hero Stack on turn - 130,000
Villain Stack on turn - 17,500
    Pot Size 21,950

    Hero Hand AsKh

    Board
    Jc Jh Ad 5h

With the blinds 120/240 and antes 30,
the cutoff made it 650 to go,
Villain re-raised to 1700 from the button and
Hero re-raised to 4,000 from the big blind.
    Cut off folds,
    Villain calls,
then Villain calls again when Hero fires 5,000 on the flop.
Hero checks turn and Villain bets 3,000.

    Min raise to rep misclick!

Seriously though, shove. Might think it's a bluff or weaker A, call looks fishy with how little he has left... if he can't call shove here very unlikely to get any extra money on River by calling.

        not to me

The 3000 bet does look like a call me bet. Dunno...there really is no "wrong" answer (outside of folding) but the explanation I got at the end makes sense.

Need a lot more information to think he's got the better hand and not pay him off, right? Thought about calling and hoping for a higher card to make him feel better with a weak ace, but I think most times he could call the turn shove with the weak ace (maybe we're semi bluffing with suited face cards), since if he doesn't improve his stack he has no chance at placing higher. If we call turn he might pay it safe and check River, and it's hard for any turn card to make him call our river bet after just calling. My $0.02

Villain flat called the 4bet and called the 5000 Cbet so he seems to mean business. That 3000 turn bet is very polarizing. Given the info we have, what is going to call a check raise shove on the turn that AK beats? AQ, maybe AT hearts? That's about it. If villain has a jack or AA hero is in trouble no matter what he does. The "answer" advocated a call & check the river. There aren't many hands that will call a shove or big river bet that AK beats but perhaps hero can get some more value out of this hand if villain will bluff at the pot with QQ-KK or Ax thinking hero has something like KQ, QQ KK or weaker Ax hand himself and will lay it down. Hero is never folding, but call/check is a way to get value out of his weaker holdings.

Interesting...that's just it, if we check river to villain and he thinks we have Ax or weaker, why would he try to make us lay down? Even from a LAG I'd think a check there on the river is coming unless he has a decent hand. With a burtal chip lead, this hand pretty much plays itself, I don't think there's much room for fancy play without more information than they're giving.
