    Hand of the day 04/22
Very first hand of Bovada's 100k guaranteed tournament. $150+12 buy in. 9-handed. Everyone has 5000 chips. Blinds 10/20, UTG raises to 120, UTG +1 calls, folds to the button who shoves, SB folds...you're in the BB with QdQh.

    Insta-fold for me.

I guess you're hoping for JJ or maybe 10/10, although I doubt he would shove with either of those hands. More than likely you're against AA, KK, AK.

In SBR land you're probably facing a guy that has AJ suited.

What's the BI for that tournament? And is it safe to assume no rebuy?

If it's a BI over $100 then I would think that would have to be an instafold. If it's a low buy in, or there is a rebuy... I would probably strongly consider a call.

Fold, no information on the guy and not worth it to flip that early.

Agree with this, I'd probably call in a rebuy since some people will shove a lot just to amass a stack, but in this tourney I'd fold pretty easily. It's not impossible that he's spazzing with AK/JJ but I think the more likely scenario is AA/KK hoping to just cooler someone and immediately have 10k chips instead of having to play it deepstacked.

Yeah, with that buy in and no rebuy... I still think you might be ahead with that strange of a 3-bet shove on the first hand of a tourney, but with only 20 chips invested... going to have to go with a fold there, a painful fold that you figure you are more then likely ahead, but a fold nonetheless.

You have no information on anyone, so it's very tough to put anyone on a hand. Not only do you have someone who shoved on the first hand, you have a guy UTG who raised 6bb and could be strong as well as someone who called him in EP who could be trapping. You're going to have better opportunities down the road and the bottom line is that this being the first hand, the chips aren't as much now as they will be later and you're going to have to win this scenario quite a bit for calling to be the correct decision. My vote is fold.

Agreed. You can get in cheap flops and outplay on the flop too since it's so early, you could also play super tight. However your style is. I agree on the fold. tough.

Really just depends on the tourney structure/buy in

On SBR for example, insta-call......In this case, insta-fold
