    RIP Lou Krieger
its a shame most on here dont even know who he is

Lou Krieger, best-selling poker author, columnist and poker player, has died from cancer, his family has announced.
Krieger’s prolific career teaching poker spanned more than two decades, covering newspaper columns, books and podcasts.
In the early 90s, Krieger began writing for CardPlayer magazine where he eventually authored hundreds of strategy articles.
His first book Hold’em Excellence: From Beginner to Winner, was published in 1995, and is still among his most memorable. Its sequel, More Hold’em Excellence, was published in 1999, both by Conjelco.
Other works include the best-selling introductory book Poker for Dummies and his most recent Secrets the Pros Won’t Tell You About Winning Hold’em Poker, co-authored with Sheree Bykofsky.
From 2007 until May 2012, he held the position of Editor for widely circulated US print magazine Poker Player Newspaper. He continued to write a regular column for the publication, with his last article, part 1 of a three part series into poker mathematics, published just last week.
According to the biography on the official Lou Krieger blog, In 2000, Casino Journal Magazine named Krieger one of the most influential gaming writers of the past 100 years, an honor bestowed upon only four other poker authors.
Along with his writing works, he also hosted his own weekly poker podcast show on Rounders Radio, named “Keep Flopping Aces” with fellow poker author Shari Geller.
Krieger was diagnosed with cancer of the esophagus, which reportedly was improving as recently as September.
A memorial service will be held in the coming months, and updates will be made on his public facebook page. The family requests that condolences be sent to PO Box 1441, Palm Springs, CA 92263-1441, or messages left on his facebook wall.

    I do.

Matter of fact, in the early 2000's, Mr. Krieger personally intervened on my behalf (I sent him an email, he promptly replied) to solve an issue about payment from Royal Vegas poker (based in South Africa at the time anyway)... which was a site he was representing.

TOTAL PROFESSIONAL through the couple email exchanges.

He use to play some tournaments on there, too. Played in a few w/him.

He was most def old school poker tho so his poker writings wouldn't really hold up today obviously...

    Tks for the info, tt

          RIP

I love Card-player magazine and I remember reading Lou's stuff back when I lived in San Diego in the early 2000s
