Going to eat brunch with another couple - They have no idea how much of a degen I am
Getting brunch with a couple that is friends with my fiancee. They have no idea that on friday I went to the Aquaduct racino, saturday the track and today all I will care about is my bets and my baseball futures. This is gonna be painful.

hanging out with non-gamblers, non-sports fans is rough. just keep stuffing yourself with food and try to listen to their boring stories without killing yourself

No, I am glad he is sharing. Some of us occasionally find ourselves in this kind of predicament, especially me. I understand this poor guy's troubles. He's forced to go to BRUNCH...not breakfast, with another couple who will probably be donning matching tennis sweaters. He'll be sitting accross from the hamburger, who will want to talk about work, politics, and European soccer. This guy will want to bring up football, but he has not cared about who wins because he's constantly ATS. He can't mention plus or minus the points because his wife will beat him or ridicule him in front of this couple. I would give Boner all my points if I could. He can't win today.

i'm going to "brunch" right now on the way to the brewers game. but big difference because my brunch consists of a 64 oz bloody mary and some steak and eggs from champps americana restaurant/sports bar.

and the only person i have to talk to is the hot bartender that's there on sunday

Trinity knows...I made the mistake of telling some non-gamblers I had the over in Washington st. UNLV game. I only said so because they almost beat the total before halftime. Started to get all the questions. Then, when both teams weren't scoring, they were rooting and making a big deal about it. One guy's like, you really need this to double up....double-up...ha, if only you knew. Really should have lost that bet and got lucky. I will never tell non-gamblers my bets. What a rookie mistake on my part.

"Oh, you like to gamble? When I go to the casino, I set a budget of $40 and see how long I can make it last. I just consider it entertainment like I'm going to the movies or something."

Mike, we can all tell that you have been married a long time and are a pro. Us, young married guys need another couple years before we can do this. Your wife probably understands that making you go to brunch on a key gambling day would create more problems and would rather just let you do your own thing. Newer wives don't understand this yet. My wife is starting to get the picture.

LOL - this man speaks the truth. I've been with my wife I think like 6 years now, married for 2.5. We're in that really comfortable part of the relationship where we each like to go do our own things, and my wife doesn't even ask me to go do stuff with her during football games.

It's on FOX Sports+ way down here in Costa Rica, so I would assume it's on everywhere in the States. Regardless, I'm headed to a sports bar to watch my team kick some ass!

Yeah, I tell them it's for entertainment purposes only. Discretionary income. Now a days that's the truth for me.
