Gotta hand it to him. He loves making sure players don't play. He did it in baseball and now he is at it in hockey.

#4Both Fehr & Bettman are turds and the players are looking like million dollar babies.
The owners spend like drunken sailors & then cry poor... scumbags. The million dollar players are just as wrong as the billion dollar owners.
Split the revenue 50 / 50 and lets get the ball rolling.
Lock them in a room with nothing to eat & force a deal

KHL announces rules governing the signing of NHL players during lockout
2012-09-12 15:42:00
The Kontinental League has released an amendment to league rules that govern the signing of players currently under contract with NHL teams.
"Our clubs have been granted the opportunity to enter into contracts and place on their main rosters no more than three NHL players, and the previously established limit of 25 players per team may be exceeded by the addition of these players,” said KHL hockey operations vice-president, Vladimir Shalaev in a statement. “For Russian clubs, only one of the three NHL players may be a foreigner (non-Russian), and this player must meet one of the following criteria set down to ensure that only top-level foreign players come to play in the Kontinental Hockey League.”
The criteria are as follows. A foreign player must meet at least one to be eligible.
• Player has played no fewer than 150 NHL games over the past three seasons.
• Player has KHL experience.
• Player represented his country at one of the past two World Championships, World Junior Championships or Olympics.
• Player has won a Stanley Cup, reached the final or won an individual NHL award.
KHL clubs based in countries other than Russia may use all three NHL player roster spots on foreigners and the above criteria is not applicable to those teams.
In the event of an NHL lockout, the maximum number of foreigners allowed on any KHL club will rise from five to six, though only five (one goaltender) will be permitted on a game day roster.
Also, any wages paid to NHLers during the lockout will not count against the KHL club’s salary cap and those wages may not exceed 65 percent of what the player makes on his NHL contract.

Bettman and the owners are trying to screw the players by looking for a higher % of revenues. This when the NHL is growing every single year and owners handing out 10 year $100 million contracts to several players.Comment -

I think both sides are shitbags. Greed -- Greed -- Greed...
Bettman keeps teams in unsustainable markets, creating a huge drain on profitable teams and lowering the overall quality by having too many teams.
The owners cry poor and yet they continue to hand out mega year, mega million dollar contracts for unproven talent.
The players earn good $$$ to play a game and have gotten it into their heads that they're bigger than the game.
At the end of the day, it's a symbiotic relationship between the players and the owners. As such, they should divide the revenue 50 / 50.
What I'd really like to see is a 45 / 45 split with the additional 10% divided between the US and Canada for talent development. There are so many kids that would love to play hockey, but simply cannot because of financial challenges, lack of available ice time / arena's to play. For the most part, when the kids are into organized sports, they are not out committing crime or turning into the 'obese generation'.

#19Because if you have been following the last year or so you would have known that the CBA officially expires tomorrow and the League (Bettman) plan on locking out the players. This isn't a strike.

#32How can you say players are greedier? I you were making $3/hour and a person of equal ability, productivity/output, education, years of experience for your employer or competitor wouldn't you want to be paid fair market value? Who set the market value for players? It's the GM's/owners who gave out or agreed to the contract.
