Provided most go overseas to play and make money in the off season( like 8 months since wnba is so short) they probably make a little more but if your a rookie in the WNBA your make 35,000 a year. If your the best player in the league the maximum is 100,000 + award bonuses( you get money for winning MVP etc...)

So if your not a perennial all star in the wnba your lucky to make 40-50k. Might as well go get a job as a Waitress and make more money.

This seems so counter intuitive to me. The real money is overseas, which is opposite the mens game. Meaning one would think that international women would have better leagues = better talent. Instead the world is catching up to the men in basketball, while the women are able to maintain dominant superiority.

Title 9 is the obvious reason we are so good at womens sports right now, but with that money incentive coming internationally, I have to believe there is a crop of young international stars right around the corner.
