I'm looking to enrich my knowledge in the government and it's past
I'm at junior corporate finance major but lack extensive knowledge on government policies and structure. I'm neither republican or democrat as I see the party system failing. I would like to read a book or two on both sides of issues and how presidents in the past have handled these issues.
I would like some suggestions from the smarter ones on this forum (not you jjgold) for books to help me start learning these things to help my future in the financial sector and hopefully make good money soon and not be a degenerate.

IMO the difficulty with reading books is the potential for the authors bias or slant. I think that you would be best served to read about the past presidents , their policies, and follow the historic course that followed those decisions, be it from how congress was in agreement or not and what transpired in following years.
I would start with George Washington. No sense in starting anywhere but the beginning. History is a great measuring stick for the future.
          Best of luck.
