I just checked in to this thread. Tough beat, Zoo. FWIW, at the beginning of this season, I back tested some 1st-inning run/no run models and it (IMO) is a roulette wheel.

IF the games were played about 20 minutes apart, and IF the pitching/batting lines up favorably, you might have an edge. However, as we all know many of these games start at the same time or within minutes of each other.

I completely scrapped the idea of betting 1st-inning runs. Also, I realize this is too little too late, however, Cain's ERA is higher in his road starts. He's like Weaver in that he's more predictable at home.
