    MLB Trivia - 6/8/06
When was the last time that a team's regular trio of outfielders combined for fewer than 10 HR?

(min 100 games played, min 350 at bats by each of the three outfielders)

Then only scenrio I can think of is that cardninal outfield with Willie Mcgee and Vince Coleman...but even that outfield probably eclipsed the 10 hr mark.

Good idea, but not the answer. Coleman and McGee always had someone like Andy Van Slyke or Tom Brunansky as their third OF partner.

But it was a team in the 80s.

        another hint...

One of the outfielders in this trio hit a very dramatic postseason home run.

Same here, I keep thinking it was one of the Orioles teams froms the late 80's.

One strategy is to think of big post-season home runs and work from that. An outfield with Kirk Gibson? Joe Carter? Buddy Biancalana?

Still not coming up with anything. 10 HR's combined for a whole starting outfield????? It seems like it should be easy but not so far . . .

Hate to see anyone taxing their brains too much. Brains are better used for capping games and imagining what color panties the waitress might be wearing.

The main outfield trio for the 1989 Houston Astros --- Billy Hatcher, Terry Puhl and Gerald Young --- hit just three home runs total. All three were by Hatcher who is best known for his home run off the LF fair pole in Game 6 of the 1986 NLCS. Also known for his love of cork

You could even add in Houston's fourth outfielder that season, Kevin Bass, and not reach 10 HR for the group

Man that's weak. Strong question but weak outfield.

Simply amazing considering Cubs outfeilder Andre Dawson hit 49 that year. (back then 49 was like hitting 75 now)
