what was his era.. like 1.12 or 1.28 or somthing? having a 30 game winner..
what did lolich do that year?

Gibson had a 1.12 ERA
McClain won 31 games, and was out of baseball 4 years later!

1968 was a true amazing year, King, Kennedy, Tet offensive, Chicago convention, i'd given anything to have lived through it. My Dad was 18 that year, he has a lot of memories of it all.

Don't know if he was a boozer/drunk/alcoholic but know he's served a few jail terms.

"The play" I'll remember was when Horton tossed out Lou Brock (who was on third). Thanks for the link. Gibson loved to throw over the corners (inside & out) and believed in challenging the batters.
