I almost always will buy the hook off of 3.5 and 7.5.

    Never off another number.

And only rarely will I buy on to get to 3 or 7.

Don't know if this is mathetically sound or not. (Ganch?)

Should one always buy on or off those two key numbers?

    Or ditto other key numbers?

Or do it selectively, like only when the total is less than a certain number (on the theory that low scoring games would be closer than high scoring ones)?

    Any published research on this?

I know there is a piece (by ganch)in the football forum on it, but I think it simply shows the percentage rate at which games are decided by 3 or 7 pts.

Early in the week Utah was -7.5 at Air Force

I bet it an bought the hook. Good thing, Utah won by only 7.

Tomorrow I'm on Philly, and bought the half there to get it to -3.

I think it's a good practice. Wonder if others do the same, Or maybe also on or off 4, 6, 10, 13 etc

Why do you or don't you make these buys?

I realze that I should ask question like this during the week, not when a slew of games are on, or coming on tomorrow

Don't buy onto the number buy through it.

14 is actually the 2nd most key number ever stronger than the 7. Cincy +14.5 would be a nice one tomorrow

you can also buy off of ten, nothing else.

Exception is if you want to buy a 4.5 all the way to 2.5, or a 6 to 7.5

I know what you're saying. Buy throught it (tho paying more) so you can win, not push, if it lands on it.

It's a nice thing about Skybook with their free half point. Not valid on or off 3 and 7, but valid on 14, 10 etc
