I tried searching for this but everything is about sportsbooks rather than actual books, you know, like with pages. I've got some long flights coming up soon and I was wondering what sports gambling book people around here would recommend for me to learn some things and pass some time?

Depends to an extent what level of 'geekery' you want. Suggest you read some reviews of:

and see which is most to your taste.

I would say "Weighing the odds in Sports Betting". Not that it is basic per se, more because it covers wider range of subjects/topics. There is a fair bit of math stuff but it is less math focussed than the others.
