When predicting a game, you try to get a decent idea of what the score is going to be... but no one anticipates that they can guess the score EXACTLY. As such, when people make a pick like this...

Tennessee shuts down Cincy this week and does fine on offense; 24 - 10 Ten

Why do these people always have scores like..

Tennessee wins a close one over Cincy, 19 - 15

Its football. We've all seen a million scores in our lives. Certain scores are far more likely then others.

    0, 3, 6, 7, 9, 10, 13, 14, 17, 20, 21, 23, 24, 27, 28, 30, 31, etc.

So why is it that people are constantly guessing scores like 25 - 18???

Am I the only one that thinks this is annoying?

I don't find it annoying but your correct certain scores are move common than others. My math model often comes up with unusual scores ie 19 18. All that really tells me is that one team is 1 point better and it will be a fairly low scoring affair. I usually in my head try and adjust from my math model to how the game will play out ie that 19 18 game might become a 20 17 game.

Math models are absolutely acceptable... they even have half points and what not. I'm talking about Score predictions.

Oakland +3.5 @ Kansas City... these two always play close.
      FINAL SCORE: 26 - 25 KC

      Drives me nuts
