I was not aware that a sports pager even existed until a member of this forum mentioned it. I've seen it being sold for $200! What is a sports pager really for? To see scores? I can see scores online for free. If a sports pager's score monitoring is real time, then the only benefit I see in having a sports pager is if betting live? What else did I miss? I'd like to have one. What are the recommended brands and or features/standards a sports pager need to have? Does it require a monthly service fee? Does it show ALL scores of ALL sporting events as the sporting event is being played live (USA/Overseas games)? Now, this would be a good thing so I won't have to flip channels or even sit to watch a dull game (I'm really just a newbie bettor first, sports fan second). I mentioned Overseas games as I have placed bets on Mexican and Venezuelan baseball and actually won (I picked the favorites of course LOL).
Wouldn't a smartphone function just as well as a sports pager, or is there really a difference? Is there some kind of app for smartphones that functions as a "sports pager"? I'd rather have the smartphone if this is the case so I won't have to carry around useless gadgets (I have many of these. I need to get rid of cameras, video cameras, and just have all these separate things all in one smartphone which I will be getting soon).
