Larry Bird "I'd rather play with Kobe Than Lebron"
Larry Bird has gone public saying he would want to play with Kobe, because Kobe has heart and is a winner.

If he could choose any current player that he'd like to play a season with, who would it be, Bird was asked.
"Well, probably Kobe, because of the fact that ... well, of course he wouldn't have been shooting as much as he does now ... but his desire to win, his dedication, to always get better, uh, and he's just, he's just tough," Bird said. "He's just a tough cat.

"But, if you want to have fun, like I did with Bill Walton, play with LeBron. It would have probably been more fun to play with LeBron, but if you want to win and win and win, it's Kobe. Not that LeBron's not a winner, just that [Kobe's] mindset is to go into every practice, every game, to get better."

Boston Celtics great Larry Bird saw the Los Angeles Lakers as the enemy during his playing days, but there's one current Laker he'd like on his side if he were playing today -- Kobe Bryant.

So this supposed to back everyones argument that Kobe is better than LeBron?

Ask any GM in the league who they would rather have Kobe or LeBron every single one would choose LeBron he 10x better than Kobe and so far this season yet again is showing it.

    Kobe is done
    Kobe is irrelevant

I never said I think he's the best in the league. I was just raising awareness that another great has come out to say this. He agrees with Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson.

Bird also said on the Dan Patrick show that Lebron would win 3-4 rings.

I agree, Wade already got one without Lebron and Bosh, so I'm sure he can get a couple more with them.

Ask any GM who'd they would want eight years into their career..........Kobe and his three rings, cold blooded killer attitude, unmatched work ethic, competitiveness, and forth quarter ice water in veins..........or..........LeChoke who disappears late in games and cowers like a little girl waiting to be saved by Dwade........and every single one would say Kobe.

seems he would rather play with lebron.

he can drain threes all day on the dribble, drive, kick out pass.

Kobe is 33, and Lebron 27. I think most gm's would take Kobe in his prime.

if larry bird and kobe played together they'd never win a championship. not enough ball to go around those two ball hogs. at least lebron shares the rock. bird is forgetting there is only one ball, he is getting senile.

He prob has more of a relevant view point than a bunch of us anonymous gamblers on an internet forum, considering he is a hall of fame player.

WvG........Bird was a closer..........he was never scared..........which is why he'd choose to play with Kobe.........rather than that ring chaser in Miami who hides behind Wade in crunch-time.

TRUST ME....I know how great Larry Bird was. I listened to it every night for a long time. Until the age of 14 I thought he and Roberto Clemente created woman and man.

Bird. Magic, Kobe played with GREAT players so was easy to win titles

Lebron has it tougher but now no excuses

Lebron will be remembered as the most talented player who jumped ship and couldn't win a ring on a real team
