Seems like JR Smith will be a must now. Mo is a substantial back up though, but not like Big Shot.

Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chauncey Billups' season may be in jeopardy after he suffered an injury to his Achilles tendon.

Was looking forward to watching this team even more with the addition of Kmart!

mo was pissed when he had to lose minutes to billups.

i think jr smith will help any team. hes in shape and instant offense.

billups is shooting under 40% this year.

more shots for griffin, paul, and williams will be a good thing.

obviously the minutes billups played will need to be replaced but his game will not be missed that much.

It's not the end of the world. Bledsoe comes back soon so that will help.

So many blowhards these days.................just read what Chris Paul had to say and you'll understand the significance:

Chris Paul, clearly upset after the game, said Billups means "everything" to the Clippers and didn't want to speak too much before receiving solid news about Billups' injury.

"He's the best guard I've ever started with in the backcourt since I've been in the NBA," Paul said. "I trust him with anything, and that's not just on the court. We need him, no question."

When asked if a Billups' injury would affect the Clippers' strategy, Paul answered, "What you think? Yeah, it ain't no secret. We're going to play and hopefully it's not that bad."

It's huge possible a career ending injury for billup and at least 6-8 months out. He wont be back for the playoffs or the olympics. Very sad to see him go down like this. Especially with this clippers team waiting patiently for a "championship" caliber team and to go down with an injury as always.

You guys are right about Mo being butt hurt about losing minutes. However I think that was a HUGE motivating factor for him. It will be interesting to see if he has the same kind of drive knowing he is guaranteed the minutes...

you kidding me? clippers win by half a dozen without overtime in last night's game without chauncey's injury.

Billups was the best free throw shooter they had, that cant be discounted. he also knows how to play defense a little bit. But at his age that was a little less than what it used to be. I think Paul went a little overboard with his statement but he is a team guy and understands how to make team statements.

I think the change is nominal but I think it is significant enough to say what little chance they had to steal the championship ended when he went down. They can still win the west but I dont think they have enough to beat Chicago or Miami without Billups. With him they had a punchers chance.

Yes, JR Smith is a need no doubt. Either way you cut it, huge loss losing Billups. BOL to Billups in the future, this could be the end of his career.

Sucks for Kenyon Martin, who went to the Clippers just to play with Billups. More likely that JR Smith might end up with the Knicks now, or back in Denver.

JR Smith keeps both teams in the game. He is a more talented version of Mo Williams. Makes no one better on the court, and is a streak shooter.

Mo Williams wont see alot more playing time. He's already averaging 28 mins per game I dount that moves much past 32-33/game. Foye will see a bigger jump going from about 20 to 28 mins.

And really its a lot bigger deal is how soon Bledsoe is ready to see playing time.

Having Williams not come off the bench is gonna hurt. If he starts they won't have instant offense off the bench. Randy Foye also has the microwave factor but not nearly as good as Williams. This hurts the starting lineup and the bench scoring, but they are deep and players will step up.
