one has to average 500 per week to stay competitive. With six weeks to go adding 3K to 10th at 2425 finishes with 5400.

I would like to know what the percentages are of people playing in each tournament. Out of 42 entrants, if on average 25 of them are American that certainly is quite advantageous.

Just in USA top 25 average 400 pts per week while top 12 are at 500. No way this will drop meaning number 25 will end with 4400.

I'd bet 2,000 points that it won't. It will drop. The top 10 can't possibly keep this rate up. They will fall off a little bit. That's not to say no one will maintain a high rate from here on out, but chances are very good that it won't be the top 10. Thus, the average points per week needed will gradually fall.

this is going be tough to make. i had 270 points this week and drop 4 spaces.

i have 9 cashes out of 25 touneys and still 17th. I give hats off to the other u.s players they are stepping up their game.

After 3 real bad weeks, I am coming back with a vengeance this week and will actually try and play in more than 3 tournaments a week. I am shooting for playing in all 5 this week. If I dont place in at least 2 of them, then i think that I will quit

No way the average will fall?!? There is nearly a 100% chance it will fall. Some people will average 500/week going forward, but the chances of it being the exact same people averaging 500 now is very very small. If it's anyone else, the overall average will fall.

That said, the points it takes to place is increasing at a faster than expected rate. I suspect that it is due to the percentage of total players trying being from the USA is rising as some in other brackets slack off and/or USA players realize they have to play every single day to have any chance.

I now estimate the cutoff to make the team will be 4k.

An outside factor is players outside of the top 20 stop playing frequently or give up in a few weeks because they feel as though they are out of it. That water downs the player pool and could drive up the average scores of the top 10 because of less competition. Not saying it will happen, nor do I believe it will, but something to consider. The weekly average remaining where it's at or slightly below isn't completely out of the question.

More players playing each day will limit the minimum score needed as well.

I didn't have a very good week, last week. Luckily I scored a 3rd this morning to stay in the top 10, but the gap is definitely much smaller. After 5 weeks, the pace hasn't really dropped off of what it will take to stay in the Top 10. That last week is gonna be real interesting...

The 4 AM tournament only had 25 players, I wasn't going to play but that was too good of odds to pass up(still only barely cashed but I could have picked a better spot in the end). Could also explain why all the other tournaments had more people.

I gotta start taking these more serious though... I haven't had 1 1st yet. Been way too willing to race whenever it's obvious I'll be racing. Then again, the blinds get really big pretty quick, so it just turns into whoever catches good cards near the end. I'm just glad I barely made it back to the top 10 after not cashing 2 weeks ago!

Average is picking up as people are seeing what it is going to take. How are you going to stop these guys? lvherbie three 1st in six days now being in top five after being nowhere two weeks ago. Robert_Wrath 740 already this week also in top five now after being 17th last week. RoadTrip635 added 2 cashes and wikkidinsane is running wild with his wild play. Top five finishers will have to average 600 weekly here out!

I now see that 600 has been a strong average for the past five weeks for the best players making my above statement needing 600 right on. Top five will exceed 6K! Question is, is 7K reachable? 11 weeks @ 600 = 6600
