Goodell: NFL considering elminating Pro Bowl
INDIANAPOLIS -- Last Sunday's Pro Bowl was a sloppily-played joke of a game that was ripped by fans and the media. Aaron Rodgers came out and said some of his NFC teammates should be "embarrassed" by the way they played. LeSean McCoy told us that he was "one of those guys" who didn't try.

Which may explain Roger Goodell said on Sunday morning that the NFL is "considering eliminating" the Pro Bowl

I would rather watch an NFL All Star Poker Tourney than watch the Pro Bowl.

NFL should do away with it. However, I believe a lot of the money they make on the game funds the NFL pension fund. That may be a sticking point.

That game may have been horrific, but it was an EASY over bet! Only problem is the O/U next year, if there even is a game, might be 85-90. Why not just have a skills competition like the NHL?

Have a skills based competition. Throw in some track and field things, basketball game, arm wrestling, Poker tournament...the possibilities are endless.

Have the fans from each team do a cook off and eating contest, though I'm pretty sure the Saints fans will win that one every year.

they should have a skills competition and in the skills competition have a flag football version of college football overtime where two teams of like 8 players go agaisnt each other starting from the 40 yard line on one drive.

                skills competiition could include:

                FG kicking competition
                QB accuracy
                WR catching
how quick a defender can get to a target (qb) with an offensive lineman blocking
                PUNT compeition (most accurate, longest)

i think a skills competition could be creative and fun and would be much more friendly and injury safe and more viewed / better rated.

Didn't they used to do a skills competition? Can't remember if it was during Pro Bowl week or not, but they had accuracy contests for QBs, the Fastest Man competition, etc. That was always fun to watch, and there was minimal injury risk

                        no way they cancel it.

it got higher ratings than the nba & mlb all-stars!

I wouldn't mind a skills / strength competition, chili cookoff, hot dog eating contest etc. just so long as it stays in Hawaii. The "game" is a farce.

I think we should eliminate the super bowl and just use a BCS type system.

Not every sporting event is worthy of being televised. Play the game, sloppily if necessary, just don't put that shit on television. ESPN will show everyone the highlights. You can't make chicken salad out of chicken shit. If any employer tells an employee that you will get paid whether you work today or not then you are looking at the probowl 2012.

What a hoax. 14 million watched that disgrace-how stupid can you be to watch an all-star game of any sport? You think the NFL is going to say goodbye to that revenue when they're now charging people to attend media day? What a laugh.
